This is weird, but I was sitting on my patio getting some sun, and a small finch landed on my head. I jumped when I felt his little claws grab my head. Another advantage to being bald?

Ouch! I can imagine how those little toenails felt on your scalp!

Having been defecated on by a flock of monk parakeets in the past, I'm not sure I would rate turning into a bird landing strip as a highlight of the smooth life...But that's just me. And, yes, I echo the possible unpleasantness nature of little bird claws.

I have had a severe phobia of birds all my life. I am absolutely terrified of them. I don't understand it, snakes mice spiders whatever I will pick or push aside but birds can/have actually made me barf. If the bird would have landed on me I probably would have had to be hospitalized!

Do they have a medical code for 'bird landing strip' so you can charge the insurance or Medicare?
LOL.
I'll put up with the birds in the yard. Really enjoy watching them select seeds from the wildflowers, or the hummingbirds sip nectar from the zinneas, butterfly bush flowers and other treats.

Ouch reddog! That's all I can say.

Wow; a "Close Encounter of the Bird Kind"!
Actually, I think that it is kind of sweet that he felt safe enough with you to land on you. I always have a soft spot in my heart for the tiny little birds. I worry about them in the Winter. How can they keep those teeny tiny little toes from freezing when it is 20 below?

I agree with You. BBA Hairy Once. Sure hate to think of winter coming again. IT seems like lsast winter just ended and now it is almost fall again.

Did you think of that old Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds?
-
I'm not sure about that being an advantage. Unless you really like birds.
