Title: In praise of the styptic pencil!

A must have for the sly.   I'm utterly amazed at how fast this works. When I need it, usually that is my reminder to change my blade.   

Are there any other methods or tools that work as well?

I became fast friends with the steptic when I first started shaving my face. My dad thought it would be a good idea for me to learn with a Bic disposable before trying a DE. I quickly came to respect the blade, but I am missing the tip of my chin in my first driver's license picture.

Now, a small piece of TP applied for a few minutes does a good job of stopping any bleeding.

Depending on the size and location of the cut, they can burn like he11... but they're still effective
