Gentlemen,
I recently purchased the Oster Classic 76 for head shaving as an upgrade over my old clippers. There is one problem, though, that I can't seem to figure out: The blades seem to move too slow in comparison to my old Wahl clippers and end up not cutting my hair as effectively. I'm using the 000 blade size.
I was under the impression that the O76 would be more powerful, but this doesn't seem to be the case. My old Wahl clippers had a crank on the side that would adjust the blade speed (dependent on how much electricity was coming through the socket), but the O76 doesn't seem to have that option. Either it's just a slower blade speed and I'll have to deal with it, or I'm missing something to help speed the blades up (my only thought is that the tension between the top and bottom blade might be too high and I maybe should loosen it?).
If anyone knows much about the Oster 76, or has a solution to this problem (needing to speed the blades up), I'd love to hear.

Is this how it performed brand new? Or have you used it for a while and now it's slow?
If it's the latter you may need to replace the clipper brush or grease the clippers.

What Tyler said about oiling the blades,and yes try loosening the blades. If that doesn't work you should call the company or return them.

Yes, this is how it performed brand new, which is why I thought it was strange. I'll lube up the blades and try loosening the tension a bit to see if anything happens. Otherwise I may just return/exchange it. It could very well be, too, that the clipper brush needs to be replaced as I may have been sold via Amazon something "new" which wasn't actually new at all. Everything certainly looks new, but I did notice a little hair on it prior to the first use, which I thought maybe was just a test before packaging and distribution.
