See how far back you all can remember about your child hood.
My earliest memory is of me when I was about 3 years old and I had ..well my mom still has it stored away somewhere....one of those monkeys with the black and yellow outfits on and a red bowtie. The monkey has a rubber face hands and white tennis shoes on ..and is holding a banana....remember those from teh early 70's? well mine had a name ..I named it cootsie... and i remember everyday I would sit out on the fron step and feed it choc. pudding....it was the DelMonte choc. pudding you would get in those little metal cans where you had to pull the top off. Anyways..thats my earliest memory

I guess when I was 3 years old, chowing down on some BBQ ribs. Or spaghetti with meatballs. I was always eating, so it's easy to look back. My mom has pictures of it, and I remember as if it were 5 minutes ago.
In fact, I remember around the same age getting onto the dinner table and pushing a watermelon onto the floor. My mom has a picture of that as well....
Yeah, I was a tubby even then. Giggity.

s'funny .... I was chatting about this very subject with a couple of friends yesterday who have a young baby themselves. One of my earliest memories is looking through the bars of my play pen as a baby. Also got a memory of being pushed in my pushchair by my mum ... I remember some older kids coming towards us & me feeling embarrassed that I was still in my push chair when I felt I was old enough to walk Guess I was maybe about 3 years old

I have a memory of getting lost in a theme park when I was four and a kind stranger took me to a policeman, who then took me to some kind of office where I was given sweets while someone called out for my grandparents over a tannoy. (have no idea how to spell it!) I can remember my Nan being really pleased to see me and me being quite bemused by the whole situation.
Memories like that tend to be a bit surreal to me now.

The earliest memories I have are of some of my childhood toys. I had a brown teddy bear amed Bif that also had a pull string and he would say "HI, My name is Bif". I also remember having one of those little metal cars that kids could sit in and pedal and drive around the yard. I also had a play tractor with pedals. Wish I still had those. Sure that they would be worth some bucks now.

Riding my little red tricycle wearing my "Schroeder" Peanuts T-Shirt.

Walking into the first daycare I ever went to, walking right up to a little tower that some kid was building with blocks, and knocking them down. Then having the teacher tell my mom I can't do stuff like that and getting yelled at. There was a lot more to come of that in the future. Shoot....I'm still getting yelled at.

Falling into the pool at age 2 or 3. Recall sinking like a stone facing the surface and seeing my parents at the edge of the pool.

NO JOKE: That is a scary vision.
JOKE: This explains a lot.

This subject came up in my family not too long ago. I told my Mom that I had recall something from the age of 3. I remember our apartment that we lived in before Mom and Dad bought our first house. She didn't believe me and I made a floor plan of the place. She said that it wasn't exact, but extremely close. Why I remember that, I have no idea. I also remember in that same apartment my Dad smoking pipes. He only did that for a very brief period of time, and only in that apartment.

Isnt it funny though on the things we remember and all. I also remember a time back in 1974 when i was just 4. I remember my dad gettin me up early ..it was winter time and it was still dark out and he had to take me to my aunts house because my mom was in the hospital gettin ready to have my lil brother. My dad was a welder at a train boxcar factor and i can still sorta smell that smell he had about him from all the metals and stuff at work. And on that exact morning he was getting me dressed..and being that Dad "never" dressed me before because mom always did it. He couldnt find my socks so he pulls out a pair of dress socks from his drawer and I remember him putting them on my feet and "folding" the toe of the sock underneath and then sliding my shoes on. I just sit and smile about that because to this day I can not stand it when my socks tend to slide down some.....i would rather go without socks then to have socks that dont fit me.

my earliest memory would have to be when I was about six. There was this girl my age that I was playing with. Her parents were friends of the family. I had a kiddie crush on her and tried sneak a kiss at the top of our stairs. I vividly remember flying backwards down those stairs after she donkey kicked me. Rolled about three times and slammed into the wall.
Damn love is painful :XX

I remember a lot of playmates, feeling a lot of jerking and pounding than rushing through a long hard tube and shooting into a warm, moist, dark cave. I lost all of those playmates but joined up with another. I think that is what happened.

I have a vague recollection of falling out of my Grandfather's 1949 Chevrolet and getting stitches on my chin. I was 2; that would have been about 1962. I remember falling and then later being in the ER. I also remember, in 1963, being in the Big Apple Supermarket. A lady came up to my mother; she was crying. We went and got in our 1958 Ford and turned on the radio. Mother told me that "a very mean man" had killed the President.
Strange how I tie cars with those two memories.
-
Real simple memory of my Grandfather that passed away when I was 15 months old. I was reaching to take his cigarette out of his mouth...after that, my memory goes blank until I recall my Grandmother telling me I was 2 after I asked how old I was...then my memory is good from my 3rd birthday party on...except for those nights out drinking with BaldRob!

Good topic Tim.Good posts everyone,I've enjoyed them all.
My earliest memory is when I was about 18 months old and I remember my mom used to carry me in a baby pack sling across her back. While walking down the sidewalk , I remember her slipping on some ice and my poor skull broke the fall on the guardrail next to the street. It all happened very quickly and I was lucky that I didnt die. I think I received about 10 stitches.Dont remember that part.
Still have the scar to this day, faintly noticeable.
-
Well they cant say you were hard headed then can they? All the energy from the fall was absorbed by the sponginess of your skull. LOL..yeah you were lucky bro...and head injuries..when they bleed...WOW you would think someone took a chain saw to ya...and 10 stitches in a babies head.....thats alot

Tim My head is quite a unit. Not only is it very big but I have had some of my Polynesian friends comment on how hard it is.In case you didnt know,Polynesians are reknowned for their extremley hard skulls.
Which is why if you are ever in a fight with one, never ever go for their head. I've seen a full champagne bottle broke over the top of a Samoans head and not only didnt it faze him but it didnt even break the skin.

I miss those old school hot sauce packets from taco bell, for some reason those tasted better than the stuff they got now.

One of my earliest memories is of when I was playing outside with my cousins and my aunt got stung by a bee. They then got mud and rubbed it on her arm. It left such an impression on me that I developed a Big phobia of bees. If one comes near me I panic. Luckily though in all my 50 years I've never been stung. My cousin got stung by a wasp once and he said it felt like somebody stuck him in the chest with scissors.
-
I'm also bee-phobic Don, I've made it almost 30 without a bee sting. I have been nailed by a wasp before though. I'd compare it to a dull red-hot thumb tack.
-
Bald Freak,I'd like to take all those bees and wasps and wipe them off the face of the earth. Screw honey.
-
my earliest memory is me being fed some gerber carrots and then about 10 minutes later..my stomach started to rubble...next thing you know i completely filled up my diaper...i could tell when my mom changed me that she wasn't too happy either!!......after a good powdering and a fresh diaper i was given a warm bottle of milk and not long after i feel asleep.....ahh the good ole days huh? ;)

:*)) O0 Whilst you're at it could you add mosquitoes to that list?

I would have to say yesterday. ;D ;D ;D ;D
For real though, for me it is the first day of kindergarten. My mom use to drop me off at my grandmother's house(the lady we stay with now) so she could go to work everyday. That's where I started school from. I remember my mom going into work late on my first day of kindergarten so that she could see me get on the bus for the first time and taking pictures of me. My grandmother, who I call Nanny, was there also to see me off. I'm sure if I think real hard I could think of something a little earlier but this is the earliest memory that sticks out the most for me.

roughly three yrs old or so. sitting on the front porch with dad while he worked on the lawn mower. he was drinking beer. (those little miller high life ponies.) well i must have decided that i wanna be like dad cause when he opened one and set it down, i drank it. slept good that night. damn i was destined to be a redneck from the start. hell i still sit outside and drink beer to work on stuff. guess you just never outgrow some of the good things in life.

I remember taking a walk with my dad in an old neighborhood that we lived in. I was 3 at the time.
