So my journey of altering my appearance continues...
First it was shaving my head bald, then the beard, then my first secret piercing (shhh), then a handlebar moustache and just the other day, got both my nipples pierced.
Even with the freezing spray, the piercing were painful causing me to yelp out loud. But I like to piercings, with each nipple having CBR 1.6 mm gauge piece of jewellery.
So a few weeks now of giving the piercings a bit of TLC with tea tree oil. Even after a few days, they still fill a bit sore.
Glad I had them done.
-
Why? Nobody will see them, i guess? Is it just something you need to try?
-
Blimey! Talk about reinventing yourself Mr Jules! Sounds a bit painful!
-
:o
-
Ouch. But I guess the pain is temporary.
@Goatee, these piercings would show when you go swimming or if you run/exercise with your shirt off, etc.
-
OMG.
-
What's left for you to try
-
Pierce his cough cough!? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
-
OK...
A bit TOO TMI for me; but if it makes you happy, Mr Jules, then power to ya, sir.
-
If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad.....
-
Sir Harry, what a blurry pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
-
Been wanting too do it for a while but would probably get ripped out.
-
I've thought about getting my nipples pierced but that's as far as it went. I haven't got that much starch in my spine!

Was a bit painful.
What a magnificent handlebar moustache in your profile pic.
-
Thanks for the all comments.
It really made a difference that I had a pal come along and give me moral support.
Three piercings is probably enough .... for now. ;)
-

Goatee, that pic was taken from my phone. My laptop crashed and it costs $270 to fix, so I guess I will be computer shopping real soon Lol.

I don't understand why your piercer used "freezing spray". What country do you live in? I have a number of piercings and I have never seen any piercer use chemicals like that?
And, I guess I don't understand why you would want to dull the sensation. Isn't that the point of getting a piercing - the pain/adrenaline rush?

I live in the UK.
The piercer had two kinds of numbing agent: a freeze spray for the nipples and another kind numbing liquid for of other types of piercings - eg genitals.
Even with the freeze spray, both nipple piercings did hurt. But it was followed by that adrenaline rush.
This is day 3 of the piercings: they still feel a little tender and I'm careful not to catch them when moving my arms.
-
Mr Jules -- friendly advice, offered only because I want your piercing experience to be good, take it or leave it :-) I pierced people for several years and have sooner or later gotten everything pierced. I continue to keep up with the state of the art. Tea tree oil is FAR too powerful and irritating for a fresh piercing, even if you cut it with a neutral oil. ANY kind of oil or lotion is not recommended, because it blocks the wound from getting air. If your piercer recommended tea tree oil, he's flat out wrong. The fact he used freezing spray is another clue to me that he's not aware of the worldwide standard practices for piercings, or doesn't care.
When you shower in the morning, let the dry crud melt off each side of each piercing without moving the rings. After it's gone, soap them up with just a little bit of the mildest soap you can, and not with antibacterial chemicals in it such as triclosan. Rinse thoroughly. Let them air dry. Don't touch them with a towel. Towels have bacteria on them after only one use. Don't touch the rings or rotate them for any reason between showers. When you no longer have dry crud on them when you wake up in the morning, you are most of the way healed. If you follow these guidelines, your piercings will stop being sore and will heal in no time.
-
Once they heal, you're going to love them. I've had mine done for a few years. I haven't regretted it. I liked them even more after stretching to larger gauges. I started at 14ga and went to 6ga. 10ga is where they stopped feeling delicate for me. Healing time is difficult because all you want to do it touch them.

So which was more painful, the first one "down there", or the nipples?

This thread is painful to read.

I would say the nipples were slightly more painful than when I got the Prince Albert done. Still, overall the combination makes for a nice "trio".

Sorry but why? Yikes!!!

Just like the look and feel of the metal.

To each his own but this falls into the "No thanks" category for me. Ouch!
-
Listen to what steeltoes says re healing. that is the advice I was given and had no issues at all and no pain after the first 48 hours. Had mine done about 15 years ago and never regretted it. Dont think I am brave enough to have a PA though
-
As long as you have a PA, you might as well go for a wand or, better yet, a wand with a circ ring that screws in though your PA! I'm just sayin'!

Think I'm going to skip this thread and read shave OTD .......less blood and pain ""maybe".
-
After reading this thread, I now realize I must have lived a VERY sheltered life.

The piercer I use in Chicago recommends cleaning new piercings with Provon Antimicrobial Lotion Soap and rinsing with saline solution. I make my own sterile saline solution with boiled distilled water and sea salt (about 1/8 teaspoon salt in 8 ounces of water). This routine has worked well for me.

I'd rather get a PA again than nipples again. Only the ampallang hurt worse than nipples.
As for wands, that's a big step up from just the PA. A lot of guys find that even a 2-3" wand is intolerably irritating, and some can't even stand the discomfort of putting it in. Me personally, I could wear one for short periods, but couldn't "do" anything with it in.
-
I don't remember my PA hurting very much when I got it. It felt kinda like being stung by a small bee.

As this discussion progresses, let's proceed with caution. We're about to venture into some dangerous territory.

Yuk!! lol

Some people might find some posts a bit too much but they can always move to another thread. Somtimes I think we might become a bit too precious.

I agree. There are plenty of posts I don't read because they don't interest me.

After awhile talk only about head shaving can get a bit dull.A little spice in life is needed.

I am regularly amazed at how judgmental some members of this board can be! WTF! Shaving your scalp is not exactly a "normal" grooming practice.
My Granny always told me to keep quiet if I didn't have anything good to say.

So, you never heard of free speech then?
This forum is full of people who try to help each other as much as possible but, also, willing to hear others opinions about all aspects of their life / themselves. Nobody else is complaining like you because we all accept each others opinions. Relax and dont worry!
We cant agree on the same things as if we did the world would be a boring place!
-
Agreed! Variety is the spice of life eh!

I have the left nipple pierced and have the left ear also. My next and last will be to my genitals(maybe).
Anyone ever had this one done.
Thanks

Now that instinct has protectively bent my torso over at the waist and my legs have tightly crossed defensively, I am vowing never to read this thread again.
-
An actual story. A buddy of mine had had his navel pierced at one point. I didn't get it but refrained from offering my opinion. Later he and I went to Sturgis and he went into one of the piercing parlors that was set up for bike week and had both his nipples pierced and then had all three connected with a chain. Then I understood.
He wanted something for his wife to grab ahold of when she was pissed off at him.
-
Been wanting too do it for a while but would probably get ripped out.
That's a real consideration. My solution was to have barbells, not rings. If I want rings, certainly I can slip them in but on a day to day basis, barbells are the answer. Go for it, I did and I'll never see 70 again.
-
I got segment rings and think they are the most comfortable for me. It takes a tool to put them in and take them out. But once the segment is in, it becomes a smooth solid ring that doesn't snag on anything. And, I never lose a ball end like has happened with barbells and curved barbells.

I've got a PA and a lorum.
-
PA and Lorum? What are they?
-
Pa is the male genitals the other not sure
-
Both are genitals. A wikipedia search will provide as much information as you probably desire. :-)

Well it didn't stop me having my nipple piercings stretched the other weekend ! ;D
-
You are a brave man, Mr. Jules. So what is the process, is it done by inserting larger sized Jewelery? If so, could you do that yourself? Is it as painful as getting the initial piercing?

I could have done this myself, but opted to have a piecer do it for me. For each nipple in turn, first she numbed the nipple with a freezing agent. Then inserted a tapered pin to stretch the nipple. This was painful and required some slow breathing exercises, as the pin was inserted. Then when she thought she's stretched it up enough, she removed the tapering pin and pushed through the larger jewellery. And it was done !!
-
what size were they pierced at? how big did you gauge them? can you tell the difference just by looking at them? send a pic!

For gauge sizes, being that I'm from the UK, I always quote European sizes. Was pierced at 1.6 mm and then increased to 2.4 mm. The new rings feel thicker and have more weight. And I can tell the difference.

It looks great, great moustache styling too!
-
Thank you, Mike. Really like the septum / moustache combo. When I'm at work, I flip the septum jewellery up inside my nose. No one can see it !
-
Was the stretching as painful as the initial piercing?
-
Does suit you 100%
-
Was the stretching as painful as the initial piercing?
Septum stretching was uncomfortable but not painful. The piercer was good and stretched gradually. Same piercer also pierced the nose to begin with and used a numbing spray. Scarcely felt a thing.
-
:o
My sentiments as well. Ouch!
-
Nick, I just keep seeing your septum piercing on a cold winter day when the nose is running and drops falling off each bead! Lol But I know that you like it and your others.

Had the septum piercing for 4 months - never had any runny nose problem. Always enjoy flipping the horseshoe up and down when necessary.
-
Mr. Jules, good the hear from you. I thought you may have left our board.
-
Yes, Nick. Welcome back.

Thanks for welcome, chaps.
Always very much part of the Sly Bald Guys community. :) Last month, had my 3rd sly birthday. Been sly bald and a happy SBG member since March 2012. Going sly led to other changes too. The beard, the handlebar moustache, some piercings and ink. All great changes in Mr Jules' life. And in the last year, had a few other interesting discoveries, too.
Celebrated my 3rd sly bald birthday in Buenos Aires, Argentina. If you want to see my bald adventures - made a travel doc for YouTube. See if you can spot the septum piercing in some of the clips.

I tried to watch your video but it says that it is blocked by SME because of copyright issues!
I found BA to be really strange. It looked a lot like a U.S. city of the 1950's - but badly in need of paint! Everything was a little decayed and poorly maintained. The waiters in the restaurants were kind of haughty, even rude. Someone explained the attitude of the people of BA to me like this; "The people who live in BA are mostly of Italian extraction but they speak Spanish and all of them wish that they were French"!
-
Doh .. forgot - my video has copyright issues and cannot be viewed in the US, China and Germany. For everyone else, enjoy the film.
Agree with your sentiments about BA. Overall Argentina is a country which has gently declined over the last 100 years. After the First World War, economically it was on a par with the US.
Still I enjoyed my visit there and neighbouring Chile, too.
