Title: Sunscreen
Post by: don on August 02, 2007, 09:57:42 PM
I always wear a cap outdoors because I don't want the sun on my bald spot and thin hair. I keep my hair cut really close so I don't look as bald.I know lots of shaven guys go without hats because hopefully they use sunscreen on their heads to protect against skin cancer. My question is that if I don't feel like wearing a cap once in awhile could I put on sunscreen even if it mixes in my hair. Will it look too greasy or will it give my hair a white creamy look.Does it blend in and is it alright for hair?

You can buy sunscreen sprays that probably won't make your hair look as greased down.  I've never tried them myself.

Of course, the obvious solution is to shave off all your hair and then you'll no longer have this problem.    ;D

Buy that sunscreen that is in the aerosol can. It sometimes is easier to rub in.  I really couldnt tell you much about it mixing in with the hair and all because I never had to put sunscreen on while I had hair. I only applied it when I started shaving ..mainly because two weeks after I shaved we went to Florida.  So Good luck ....but you might try the spray on type first.

Yeah, I'd try the spray on sunscreen or a sunscreen like Bald Guyz or Bull Frog that is a light gel.

It depends on how short you keep your hair.  If it is at #2 or lower, you might try Bullfrog gel.  Dries quickly and no gooey creamy feel.

My family tried that spray stuff (SPF45), but it just didn't work the same (can you say sunburn?) as regular lotion.  I used to wear my hair fairly short, and I would just rub sunscreen through my entire scalp.  It worked, and it looked like I had gel in my hair.  Now I don't have to worry about that.  Applying sunscreen is quick and easy on a smooth scalp.  My recommendation... shave it all off, and use a good sunscreen.
