Hey guys,
Well yesterday I decided that i would take the next step in the process and Buzz to a #1. Can I say that my first reaction as i started to shave my head was WTF!. I had this feeling of dread as I did it. I don't know if it was a mixture of a fear of stuffing it up or what others reactions would be. Now that i think about it it was more fear of stuffing it up.
I'll post a picture tonight once I'm near my digital camera.
Out.

Hey outsider, I remember having that same reaction the first time I started to shave. It made me stop what I was doing and I just trimmed it closer. I regretted that decision the next couple of days, so the next time that I got up the nerve to try it I made sure that I made a good clean swipe up the middle with the razor so that there was no turning back. That was a little over 3 months ago and I have never looked back. I think you'll have the same reaction. Best of luck. O0

I like the feeling of the hair so short, it is a very different feeling of having it at #2.
I live in Sydney and we have a fairly large mountain range on the western side of the Metro area. I went to visit a friend up there last night and it is much colder than Sydney is in Winter. I was quite surprised how much of a difference that one Guard size is in terms of temperature.
As an incentive I went out and also purchased a headblade. They finally sell them in Australia :) for those reading this from australia they sell them at Priceline and The Shaver Shop. I will hang onto it as a reminder of my overall goal.

Hey outsider..thats cool...but wait until you start to use the headblade. I guarentee you once you use it...you will be using it forever! YOu will be married to it. You wil not want to leave home without it! Your finger will have this little impression on it where you use the headblade constantly ! LOL
Hey its cool....just do it when you are ready....but we all cant wait to see you sly!@
See ya bro

I've not seen many friends of family. I did have a chat with a friend of mine the other night and i mentioned to him that I want to shave my head. He said that people wouldn't care since i already have my hair really short.
I think my next step will either be #0 or razored.
I'll tell you about a interesting experience i had this evening.
I went to the IMAX cinema this evening to watch the new Harry potter movie in 3D. I noticed another sly guy in the lobby. Once inside he was sitting a few rows infront of me, while the movie was showing i looked down at his head. It was like a mirror reflecting the picture on the screen. I dont know how he got his head so shiny.
What do you guys think about the beard/glasses? I have the option of contact lenses.

The look with glasses and the beard as in your last pic with a shaved head gives you a hot look.
Glasses looks beter on you than contact lensses with your head shaved

Hey Out, play with your look when you shave your head down all the way. Have some fun with trying out new looks as you never know what will be that look you just love to rock. I never thought of growing a goatee but tried it out one day after I had grown a full beard while camping. I would have never known that it was a good look for me if I hadn't tried it out.

Hey Out, I agree with Tyler. Try things out; play around. I think you could pull off the beard and glasses, and probably a lot of other looks. I think the trim beard looks best like you have it. Look forward to your next pics.

Hey guys thanks for the responses. I know this is slightly off topic but i'll shoot it out anyway.
I sometimes get this thought in my head that the MPB isn't happening to me. I'll look in the mirror (escpecially now) and think to myself that there is still hair where the thinning is occuring. Perhaps that i'm just imagining the hairloss. Like the other day I had a hand mirror and was in the bathroom looking at the crown of my head after I buzzed it to #1. I though to myself "it doesn't look like it's showing yet." yet at other times especially when the hair was longer was blindingly obvious that the hair was thinning and going to eventually receed to what my father has today.
I think the worst part of MPB is waiting for it to happen. That is why I chose to try out wet shaving my head. Appart from the cool look it provides.
Don't mind me i'm just having pre-sly nervousness.
Out.
PS. my scalp is naturally shinny in turns out ;D

Looks good bro...don't sweat taking it down to the skin, you'll love and look great!
Thanks for posting the pics!

Well guys.
I went to work this week and i've only had two comments about the trim. One was "Hi Baldy". The other one was from my boss. He said, "[the topic at hand] is enough to pull your hair out, not that you have any to pull out." ;D
I am surprised how little everyone cared.

While each of us has hair that grows at different rates, it only takes me about 4-5 days to go from 0 to 1, Out.

Hey Out,where you at in Sydney? I'm in Manly.
Regarding your impending Slyness , I can understand the hesitation to want to do the deed entirely but to be frank you are really delaying the inevitable which is eventually putting headblade to skin.
It will be a great feeling for you and your new look will empower you,
Hope to see a new avatar of your shiny dome in the next few days mate.

Hey Jesse,
I'm in Roselands near Bankstown. There are alot of Sly guys arround here.
I have to make a slight correction to the quotes before. One of the managers also said, "That's one mean haircut for one mean guy" HEHE. I think she liked it, she's also much older than I am.
I was chatting to a friend last night, and he put the MPB thing quite well. He said "If it worries you, then deal with it, and get over it" I shall follow his and everyone elses advise and shave it. (Just in my own time)

I used to work out your way quite a bit in the Lakemba,Liverpool,Cabramatta,Fairfield area delivering spas and gazebos. Our main distrubution was in Brookvale but I worked primarily in Western Suburbs.Yeah I used to see a lot of sly guys out that way, way more than in the North Shore.
I think you will find when you do take the final step of being fully Sly in your own time, I noticed this anways, Is that people will tend to take you a bit more seriously. A shaved head in the past( and at times unfairly) has been associated with toughness (Just look at Capt Pate!haha) and generally being a badass so you'll find people will approach you differently and people you already know will see you in a different light. Maybe I imagined this but it is what it seems like to me.
And the ladies love a sly dome eh!!
Good luck with your journey and post a pic when the deed is done.
BTW are you a Bulldogs supporter? I go for the Sea Eagles as you probably already guessed! We are sittin on 2nd place in the ladder but Doggies arent far behind.

Believe it or not Jesse, I'm a Sharks supporter. I grew up in the Sutherland Shire, hense the team choice.
How did people such as family and friends take the decision to be BBC?
Out
-
Right on,go the Sharks. Manly beat them for the first time in Cronulla this year since 1986.
To be honest, when I decided to become BBC it had nothing to do with MPB so I cant say what the effects of that would be. I became BBC initially as my way of saying get stuffed to all the craze of emo combovers and other cringeworthy metrosexual male hairstyles that are permeating our city(the faux hawk is another abomination). But what I didnt expect is how great it made me feel and what an addicting feel it would become and totally change how I looked and felt.
My wife intially hated it, then after about 2 weeks she said to me " I like you better with hair but I really dont mind it" and almost 1 year later she still occasionaly gives me cheek about it but she has come to love it. My family and friends were intially weirded out but now they all say how much it suits me and they cant imagine me with hair. You see I have Lebanese ancestry so my hair is as thick as all hell ,so it was quite a big shock to everyone.
I'd say go for it and given some time, all your friends and family and coworkers wont know you any other way.

As an incentive i went and got a Headblade from priceline the other day. They also sell the blades but sadly they dont sell headslick or the other products. I heard ages ago about King Of Shaves. I use that on my neck to shave the beard neat and tidy. Its quite good, doesn't foam too much, has menthol which is soothing.
I thought I wouldn't loose my hair when i was young. Years of paying out my brother saying "I'm not going bald, you are!". Now he has a perfect head of hair, as for mine its slowly taking on the distinct M shape and in my opinion looks untidy on me.
Will keep you informed.
Keep it SLY!

Hey Out, it usually takes me about 3 to 4 days to go from 0 to 1 if I remember correctly.
I think it's pretty normal for guys to have little or no reaction when they shave their head.
