Title: Anybody from mass into handguns?
Post by: ice4life on July 23, 2007, 07:14:16 AM
I love going to the range with my glock and blasting through a few hundred rounds every now and again... I don't get to go as much as I'd like, but I'm hope that'll change... Anyways, is there anyone on here from mass that wants to go to the range??

If I was in Mass I'd go with ya.   #u#T3r

I'm actually looking for a decent rifle range in my area, but it's hard to find one that has a shot longer than 100yds in the metro areas.  Would like to find one that has a 300 yd shot.

Yep... rifles, handguns and bowhunting......

Range is no problem out here to find.... anywhere on public land ie Nation Forest from 50 yards out to what ever your fancy is 1200 maybe?

I know!  I use the one along the Continental Divide every Oct/Nov.  Though, the targets aren't exactly standing still.

That just raises the level of difficulty Tyler.

Yep, nothing like a 350 yd shot at 12 degree incline with a moving target at the end - oh, and you're sitting on an opposing slope, buried in mud and bushes using a tree branch as a rest for your rifle.  Now, that's target practice!

My kind of target practice ... of course of the last three deer I killed, two were with a car and one with a tractor

one with a tractor

Now, that has to be an interesting story.  It's not like a tractor moves that fast.

I will say that all the long distance shooting is great... I used to practice with my heavy barreled .223 Rifle that I used when I was with the sheriff's office in centeral Montana... prairie dog shooting @ 450 yards is great practice.  If you guy's haven't done it, get out and have some fun if your inclined to.

This is a pic of the Savage 10FP that I used I had both in .223 and 7.62 Nato (.308) ... I had to take this from another source because I can't find the pics of my rifle that I had.  But this one is set up just like the one I carried in the patrol car.

Now, that has to be an interesting story.  It's not like a tractor moves that fast.
Fawn lying down in the pasture.  Did not move when I came around w/ the bush hog

I can't believe you killed Bambi with a tractor and brush hog...

On a positive note, at least you didn't need to take it to the butcher to grind it up into venison burgers...

Sadly, all I did was fracture the pelvis so it could not walk; we shot it - it would have been killed by coyotes or wild dogs.
