Title: Shaving rash
Post by: pickettwayne on January 08, 2014, 02:42:24 AM
Hey folks.

Just got to say. Loving this forum and it has definitely helped me to do the deed. Wow, it's been about 10 months now and still loving going sly and it was this site that helped me take the plunge.

I tend to shave at least every other day. My normal routine is was head, use shaving foam and Gillette Fusion then use head slick.

Problem is I have noticed every now and again I have been getting on the both sides of my head a rash. Like a burning rash. I know its not in growing hairs etc. Just wondered how to get rid of this as it doesn't look the best. It usually goes within a few hours of being freshly shaved but would like to eradicate this straight away.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried a pre-shave oil like Shave Secret?

It made a huge difference in cutting down the irritation my scalp experienced. I use it before every shave now.

Ah ok. Never heard of shave secret. I will have to Google it now.

Would it replace my shave cream then?  O0

Pre-shave oil is applied before anything else. It does not replace the soap/foam/gel.

Shave Secret is not the only oil out there. I mentioned its name because it is the one I use.

I think Shave Secret is also the easiest to find. Comes in a very small bottle (.5 ounce). For example, Wal-Mart carries it and cost is about $4.

You can use it as a pre-treatment, or I found mixing five drops into my shave lotion worked really well. Try it both ways and decide what's best for you.
