I feel similarly about the piano or keyboard.

I have both. Play at least one of them almost daily.

It really  puts you into a trance like state when you just don't care about anything around you, doesn't it? Especially when you are really into the music that you are playing.

I don't play but my 16 year old son just started playing recently. For Christmas we got him a really cool game called "Rocksmith". It's a video game BUT you actually plug your guitar into the game system AND it actually helps teach you to play. It's REALLY cool for beginners.

Rock Smith is great, even for intermediate players, some of the worlds best teachers and players have contributed, its more like lessons than a game, really impressed

I have heard a lot about rocksmith. But i haven't come across rocksmith in my country. But the real fun comes when you meet other people and play songs in a band setting. Its a thousand times more fulfilling, especially if you and your friends know what your playing.

I play guitar and piano.  I try to play every day because it makes me happy.

Rocksmith is well worth a try - it makes practice so much more fun.

I guess that is true, because sometimes i just cant stand playing boring scale shapes and learning a few licks with a metronome. Music is more than just learning stuff. Its more about the feel.
