Looks good, jackal!
-
You're one your way, jackal! Keep posting pics as the beard grows.
-
I'm 50 years old and still can't grow a decent batch of beak fuzz. :Xo! I hate you guys! ;D
-
I'm biased but I think facial hair especially a full beard with shaved head is a winning combo. Send more photos as it grows.
-
im gonna be taking pictures daily, but ill be posting here every few days, dont want too many pics of me floating around here, would be like watching paint dry, lmao
-

Yes. Make me jealous. 8)
-
Hey, we have to start somewhere, right? That looks good for a starter beard.
-
well, a few more days have passed so i figured id take another picture. got a call today about a job interview in a kitchen, which means i may have to shave it off again. idk, im debating on still keeping it until i know if i have the job or not but it still doesnt look good to show up to an interview unshaven. anyways, id love some feedback on that subject. should i shave it? its for a food industry job, and its always best to be clean shaven in them environments....
-
It looks like it is coming in nicely, Jackal.
As far as the interview, my opinion is that as long as the beard is neatly trimmed and defined (in other words, the cheeks and neck are shaved), you will not look unshaven. Good luck!
-
It may be different in the US but in Australia a number of the top chefs have beards - usually nicely trimmed - and no one worries. Men (and women) working in kitchens often wear a capor covering to contain their hair so I can't see a beard would be a problem.
Wish you well for the job interview - keep the beard.
-
The beard is coming in nicely, but if you really want this job and you think your chances are better if you are clean shaven, I'd shave. You can always start the beard over again.
-
well guys, i shaved it. and now its back :) i had my job interview and it didnt work out so i said forget it, and i let it grow back out. its been about a month and a half now and its coming in nicely, except my chin area...not really sure how im gonna handle it, but we will see how it turns out as it comes in i guess. i was originally tempted to shave and forget about it because i was pretty bothered by the chin situation, but i figure ill let it go, and see what happens. the longer it gets, the more right it looks even with my "bald spot on my chin". but anyways, let me know what you guys think....also, for you guys with the full beards and shaved head, how do you go about dealing with your sideburns? im having trouble deciding to keep them horizontal, or shaving them down on an angle so they come to a point at the top of my ear. idk, so many decisions!!!! lol
-
I thin out the top of the sideburns a little....so I get a natural looking fade....stops it looking like I'm wearing a comedy stick on beard lol
-
Looking good mate!
-
Jacvkal, I have experimented with different styles at the side burns, from taperd to a point to a blunt straight cut. It is really just personal preference, but I like the blunt staright cut near the top of the ear best. And I do fade the sideburns a little shorter than the rest of my beard, but not a close fade. I suggest you try a few methods and see which you like best on yourself - none look bad. BTW, the taper takes a little more maintenance time and a steady hand with the razor, the a straight cut is easier.

Beards are not shirts: they are not accessories a responsible employer has any business saying you can have or cannot have. I really don't understand this fear people have of being seen with a beard when it comes to work related matters when there are literally millions of guys out there with beards and they have literally been around longer than recorded history. An employer should be focusing on running a business and not playing nanny-powertrip on their employees. I wonder what happens with their anti-beard attitude when their customer has a beard.
-
Jackal, you look really good with a beard; it complements your scraped dome. Keep growing it!
-
thank you everyone for the comments. i dont agree with employers not allowing beards either, but from my past, it has been mandatory to shave while on the job, at least in the food industry. maybe on day we will all stop being hated against for showing we are men!

well, i kinda lost count of how long it has been, but im thinking about 2.5 months. anyways, here is is. im thinking about trimming my sideburns down completely down to just below my ear. i hate the bushy look, as i think it makes my face look rounder than it is, and i really dont need that, lol. if anyone has any pics of what im talking about, it would be greatly appreciated it, thanks!
-
Angled to a point just to the bottom of the earlobe would look great IMO. Fade it as you get to the top of the point. The beard and the scraped grape look really good. Is that new ductwork?

Taking them down to earlobe level is too low, IMO. Take the sideburns to the top of the ear, but have them tapered or faded at the top so they aren't too bushy.

this is the same thought that i had. i couldnt handle it, so before i got in the shower tonight, i pulled out the clippers and went to work. i think it turned out pretty good, especially for my first try fading. i found a guy on youtube called "the beard baron" and he had an instruction video for the fade, and it really helped. anyways, ill post a pic of how it turned out. im really happy with it.

That's perfect. I have the barber do it for me every two weeks. It starts to get a little shaggy in between visits.
You've got a very nice looking beard.
-
ty very much razor, i think ive only been to a barber maybe once or twice my whole life, lol. prior to me shaving my head, my grandma did most of my hair cuts. i was contemplating on going just to get the first trim done, but for now i think im good. eventually i do intend to go have a barber help me out, as im wanting to eventually have a beard like opie from sons of anarchy, but who knows, im sure my vision will change as the time goes on.

Looks good O0
-
You did a good job with it, really looks good.
-
Nice trim and nice earring. Goes well with the bald head.
-
Nice job son! Beard looks good and the fade on the sideburns works perfect. Glad you didn't go to the bottom of the earlobe, I don't think that would have looked right.
-
That is exactly how the barber faded my beard when he shaved my head last Thursday! Good job!
