Danny Boy,

Thanks for posting the avatar.  As I suspected, your head looks normal... no worries.  O0

I can't think of any ghost stories, but my older daughter has me watching a show with her (I never would have watched if it was not for good time spent with her....)  She knows I like spooky movies, so she thought I would like it.    It is called Ravenswood.  It is a spin-off of her favorite show Pretty Little Liers (which I refused to watch..)   They are a little "chick-flicky" but the ghost element in Ravenswood is pretty cool.

Dang, I can't believe I just admitted all that...lol.

Although it is not a ghost story, it's an interesting one on people's views on death and reincarnation.

My paternal grandmother had a set of twins who died shortly after birth. When my mother was pregnant for the third time, a lot of movement was detected in the womb, making the doctors think she was carrying more than one child. My grandmother immediately came under the belief that her twins were going to be reborn in her daughter in law. It was simply my brother who was born.

The funny continuation to the story is that my grandmother and my mother seriously did not get along. One of the reasons was skin color. My grandmother fell in love with my brother who is the darkest in the family.

An odd favor my grandmother had before she passed away was for my father to take down the chandelier in her living room, and to give it to my brother for when he is older. I can assure you that he never received that chandelier.  >:D ;D

I used to work for a restoration company. One job they assigned me to was at a home where the caretaker had been murdered after walking in on a robbery in progress. The robber tried to set his body on fire after after killing him. Anyway there were about 5 of us working in the house to give it a thorough cleaning. One day about three of us heard footsteps in the upstairs hallway even though we were all on the ground floor. No one else was in the house. Kinda creepy.

A great website for ghost stories is CastleOfSpirits.com.

I have submitted several stories on that site. One of them is 100 percent factual.

(And no, I do not believe in ghosts.)

I work in a department store, and the building is quite old. People have made claims to hearing footsteps of other sounds when no one is around.

One particularly funny story dealt with this lighted base that seemed to make moaning sounds overnight. A coworker was convinced there was a ghost. If it was, I would like to know why this ghost only made one sound on a consistently timed basis.

I was staying at the Roosevelt hotel in NYC for several months and thought I saw a woman in the hall only to have her not be there on the double take.  There was no where she could have gone.  Turns out its a popular occurrence on that floor of the hotel according to hotel security.

One night I was talking to one of the security guys in the lobby and two women said they heard the piano playing in the ballroom yet no-one was in there when they walked by the open door.  He said it was probably the same "lady" I saw.

When I was younger and still lived with my parents, we rented a home in South Hill, VA while they had a house built outside of town. A few strange things happened while we lived there...

There were several small storage rooms/attics peppered throughout the upstairs area. Now and then, I'd hear taps, or knocks coming out of them. It definitely wasn't the house settling, or plumbing noises. Never figured it out. My then-girlfriend stayed with us for a few days and she heard it a few times herself. It only happened at night. No matter the season, or temperature.

My parents slept in a bedroom downstairs, so I had the upstairs pretty much to myself. At night, whenever I was there alone or my parents were asleep, I really would get the feeling that someone was following me back up the stairs, whenever I'd go down for a snack, or whatever.

One night there, I had a horrible nightmare, and it was truly terrifying (still makes my blood run cold thinking about it). In it, I was walking into my parents bedroom (in our old house - the one I grew up in), and our cat was in there. It turned towards me and started making a horrible screaming/screeching noise, and started growing bigger and darker.. like total blackness. The sheer terror I felt was immense. I've never had a dream like that before, or since. I hope I never do again.

One other night, I remembered falling asleep with a scented candle lit. I woke up in the middle of the night and it was out. Still plenty of wick, no moving air in the room. Could have randomly just burned out, but it was still strange...

It got to the point where I started sleeping in the mornings, after the sun would come up, so that I could stay up all night. I'd waste time on the internet or play Playstation games.
I asked my parents about the history of the house, and they said that a very tall older woman lived there with her abusive handicapped son, who spent all of her money. That's all I knew about it.

Needless to say, I was happy as hell to finally move out of there. I can't say I believe in ghosts, but there was something definitely up with that place... I've never had any experiences like those before living there, or since.

Speaking of Ghosts, I think I just saw Nate!     haha

Good to see you, Natros!  Cool story.

I do remember a time when I was on the back porch of my cousins house with my two cousins and my sister and a family friend (all kids from approximately age 6-9).  The porch was closed in and had jalousie windows all around, which were all shut, and there were awnings lowered down over them.  The room was dark.  We were making up ghost stories and getting ourselves all scared.  There was a big chalk board on an easel out there.  As we were telling stories and getting scared, the chalk board suddenly flipped on the easel and hit the family friend on the back of the head.   All five kids were in the house in 2.3 seconds!   haha...

My town is adjacent to a nature preserve and local legend has it that if you drive through alone at midnight, you may see the specter of a woman in a long red dress.  I've never experienced a sighting, but I know people who swear they saw a glimpse of something red moving through the woods.

Only things whats happened to me was what i thought to be what sounded like footsteps on the landing i think it was the boiler settling or it was the house settling something like that but it was weird that happened in the house im in now...another was when i was a kid at my dads house we was about to go out and i looked upstairs and only way i can explain what it was was as if  there was loads of butterflies just flying around in one spot but i dont think there was butterflies...but why would there be butterflies? chances of being just one was rare enough...i thought maybe it was a dream but apparently i wasnt the only one to see it (on different occasions)
