I've heard of a few people wearing makeup on their heads- anyone here ever try any of that out? I know celebrities like Bruce Willis wear it, but any every day wearers?
-
Sorry bro...only foundation here is the one used to hold up my house. Seems that for the average person wouldn't make much sense what with sweating and all.
-
not here either. but let us know if you try it. ya never know.
-
No make up for me either.. Howie Mandel does on his show..
I was watching celebrity poker the other night he was playing.. he as shadow also...from watching deal or no deal it doesn't show.. so he's got to put some on..
-
i have mixed feeling about the shadow. but either way it ain't like i can do anything about it. so i just go with it. someone would ever say something about it, i would just bust 'em in da mout. :x! ok not really >:D
-
I'm the same Paul.. look at my avatar.. you can see the shadow.......but there's nothing wrong with that cause I'm BBC......
-
I'm not that vain, nothing I can do about it anywho, so I don't lose any sleep over. Ladies still like it. :@`
-
Couldn't deal with puttin' something on top of my head when I just scraped it all smooth! O0
With that said,, I would love to not have any shadow...I know us BBC dudes can say we ultimately can hang with having the shadow...
but if i was MPB and had a real defiante heavy horseshoe shadow going, I would definately do something more than shaving, i would either tweeze (ouch) or think about lazering off what's left! For real.

Lasering does not remove 100% of the hair, and it may not work at all depending on your skin tone and hair color. Fair skin and dark hair is the best combination as the color is what absorbs the laser. It doesn't work for blond, grey, or white hair at all. And regardless of what you may have heard, it's not 100% permanent, either. I had my chest done last year and it is nowhere near hairless. It is, though, significantly less than what I had previously and at least I look like a normal person now and not some sort of Sasquatch. :D
Lasering can leave you with bare patches and hairy patches. I've got more hair on the left side of my chest and torso than on the right. Not a big deal, but not something that I'd want on my head.

Anybody you see with a shaved head and no shadow on TV or in the movies is using make-up or the lighting is rigged to make the shadow invisible. I have the DVD of Superman Returns -- the version that has the extra disc with the "making of" documentary. It was unbelievable how much shadow Kevin Spacey had throughout the documentary. But on film he was completely shadow-free.

It's not so much the shadow that bothers me, but how oily my head gets. Seems like every hour or two I have to give a wash or something. It's a little rediculous at times, especially when I go out and can't get to a bathroom constantly without looking like I have a problem, lol.

I had that problem in the beginning, but it's gone away for the most part. I think once your scalp gets used to not being covered with hair, it starts to produce less oil.

i gotta disagree to some extent. i had dandruff until i shaved. now i have the oil thing to. read somewhere that diet has alot to do with oily skin. also that a fish oil supplement can actually help reduce oily skin. not sure about that but it seems like i remember hearing or reading that.

I'm MPB with dark hair... and personally, I could give a sh*t less about the shadow!

Yeah man, same here. Shaving every day is worth it, and actually something I kind of look forward to. Some days I hit it twice.

geez andre. mpb does not mean we have no feelings dude. that is abit harsh towards mpb guys. hell i have a shadow and don't care about it. even though it don't reach the front of my head anymore, and gets less of a shadow in the back of the crown.

Im with Meathead...i also look forward to shaving everyday.. I didnt shave yesterday at all until late last night. I was at walmart and and I happen to walk past a mirror....I was like OMG I can not believe I am out in public like this. You could see some shadowing...but i rubbed my head while lookin in the mirror ( as it was my firsttime rubbing my head for the day?) I had the urge to go pop open a package of razors and head to the restroom at walmart. I just grabbed what I needed and headed home. The smooth shadow doesnt bother me at all..it is the shadow that feels like velcro that I can not stand. My wife says I have developed some sorta of hair fetish lately and she cant figure it out. My daughter says I need to shave my chest and stomach...well i dunno about that...if i had nice pecs and a six pack instead of a party ball..i might consider it..but for now ...it stays.

Sorry dudes...didn't mean to offend...at all...
I was commenting for ME not anyone else, we say things straight up around here, right?
For ME it would be something that kept nagging at the back of my mind...as it is I would like not to have a shadow with the hairline I have...
and like I said if it was a HEAVY horseshoe shadow, not many guys have a HUGE contrast like that, i 've really only see it on a few MPB guys here and there...
So, I'm not trying to offend, what purpose would that serve?!?
Sorry if I did to any of you guys

I'm BBC.....I personally think the MPB guys rock the SLY look because they don't have as much shadow to show or to deal with.
The patch on the back of my head that was thinning is tan and seasoned, man....
all the more for the dudes with major MPB.

I have MPB and I hate that friggin shadow...this may sound crazy, but you know how we shave our heads on purpose because of the MPB? well at the gym since there are mirrors on all the walls, I can see in the back the shadow, and when I see it I feel awkward, like I felt when I hads a "piece" and was wondering if people behind me could notice. I know this sounds ridiculous :-[...so I usually take a 10lb dumbell and throw it at the mirror and it makes me feel a lot better, only a couple mirrors left and I will be cured!! :Xo! :/O
Anyway, if I could get rid of the shadow I would, Andre I don't think you were trying to offend anyone brother!!! you just were stating what YOU would do.

I think that a shaved head is seen well shaved with one shades gray.
you do not need to put make up there

I, for one, was not offended at all. But if the shadow really bothers you so much, why not try tweezing? I'm told by those in the know that while it is somewhat painful the first time, the maintenance is not bad at all and you will definitely be shadow-free. If you want it badly enough, there's an option out there for you.
