Title: Find Health In Tea
Post by: Switch on October 22, 2006, 10:31:45 AM
Soemthing that is working for me is drinking alot if tea. And i'm not talking about Sothern Style sweet tea. i'm talking barley sweetened long leaf tea. Lipton makes alot of very good tea's. My favorite is the orange, passionfruit, and jasmine tea. i highly suggest it. or you can stop by your local tea shop. i work at one at the mall of georgia, and let me tell you, the are teas for everything! energy, relaxation, antibody booster, weightloss, everything. i have not been sick for about a year and with as many teas that are out there, you will never get bored.

Make sure you are drinking actual tea and not herbal teas, which technically are not tea at all and don't have any of tea's health benefits.  Only the leaves of the plant Camellia Sinensis are true tea leaves.  This is the plant from which black and green teas are derived.

Ethnic grocery stores are great places to buy good tea at bargain prices.  Asian, Arabic and Indian grocery stores usually have an extensive selection of teas that are cheaper and higher quality than what is typically found in supermarkets.

Nobody talks much about oolong tea these days.  I wonder why.   All the focus is on black and green, and now white tea.   I'll drink oolong if I'm in a Chinese restaurant, but the rest of the time, plain old black, unsweetened tea is all I want.

I wasn't aware they had unsweetened tea in the south. Thought it was all sweet tea

Only if you don't ask.  I always have to ask for unsweet tea, if not, then I get syrup.

I love all kinds of teas, especially given the health benefits of some of them. My wife and I just got a kuerig machine for Christmas. It makes great single servings of coffee or tea. I have been kind of hooked on Timothy's Earl Grey as of late. Celestial Seasonings makes a great Earl Grey Green Tea. I have to pick up some of that this weekend.

I never really been on either side of the fence with tea.  You know, drank it when it was there but never really did anything about trying to get some.  Recently, over the past few months my stomach has been giving trouble, so I started drinking a ginger tea with green tea and honey.  It is great!  Now, I'm drinking just green tea and honey.

Earl Grey with honey and milk is my favorite tasting tea  :)

However Chamomile tea is my favorite. I have a sleeping problem and that stuff helps me out, even when the booze don't!  >:D

Check out this site http://www.adagio.com/green/index.html the tea is fresh.  Try the cocomint, sencha premier, white monkey, and apricot green.  The sencha and monkey are good hot, and the apricot and coco mint are f'ing unbelieveable on ice.  Get a Chinese tea pot...  Manditory.
