Hey everyone how have you all been keeping? I've been away - way up north - for quite some time now and have missed my daily dip into the world of the sly brotherhood. It's good to be back in civilization.
Over the months of my involvement on this forum, I've seen countless threads dealing with the question of "Should I do it", or "Should I shave my head?" and now I am myself asking - in jest, of course - should I do it, should I grow my hair out?
Some of you may remember me saying, when I first joined this forum that I have Alopecia Areata and that was the reason that I shaved. Well, I have gone for a while without shaving now and it looks like all my hair is growing once again. I still have some white patches but the hair is actually there.
I don't know if it will stay but I am growing my hair out to see if it will. I did in fact have some serious deliberation over whether or not to grow it back. For instance, on one hand, I have a nice tan and it is summer. I don't know if I really want to lose that tan before the inevitability of fall but on the other hand, I am getting tired of the daily ritual of shaving.
So Anyway, I decided to give the hair thing a try mostly because I am receiving treatment for my Sleep Apnea and I am wondering if that is the underlying cause of my Alopecia Areata. Growing my hair while receiving that treatment would be the obvious thing to do.
I will keep popping in here from time to time just to see how my sly friends are keeping. (That is unless you're now banning hairy Canadians... :x! (Just try it) Now what should I do about that username... hmmm, should I change it to "The Unshiny"?

Shiny if your like me cause the main reason I shaved over 10years ago is the same as yours Alopecia Areata.
In the years I've let them grow for a month..or 2.. but always returned to shaving.
It's a mixed feeling I know.. but do what feels good for you and not other's or by influence.

Hey, if you're not feelin' the love for being SLY, you shouldn't do it....
my feeling is just because you shave your head does not necessarily mean your instantly "sly", it's a want, a need an attitude...
if you're not feelin the love, it'll show...
so dude, go for the grow out and see if you CAN stand having hair again...you may surprise yourself that you actually WANT to have a bald head! O0

hehehe... You bet. Thanks guys and I already miss the smooth scalp feeling but I trippin' on the soft "just beyond stubble" feeling. ppl probably think I'm a little :/O cuz I rub my noggin so much. ;D

Yeah keep us updated. I am sure there is a name for the feeling a person has when he goes from SLY back to hair. As we have said before, SLY has more to do with you as a person, even if you have hair.. Keep us updated.
