Well over the last month i've been bald i've had some funny reactions from people. I've had a horseshoe since I was 21, people thought I was much older and I hated it. People that know me have just always known me with my horseshoe hair, so imagine their surprise when they saw me with no hair at all.
My sister was the first person to see me and told me she liked it and thought I looked younger, my mother was the next to see it and kind of screwed up her face and said "It's alright" (she'd always been against me shaving my head totally bald when I talked about it because she said I should have 'some' hair and actually thinks it makes me look older). She's gotten used to it now though. No real reaction from the ladies yet though!
My supervisors made no mention of it and treated me like normal, but all of my other work colleagues reacted with shock. I got comments like "You're...you're bald" "It's all gone" "What have you done?" "You look like Mini-Me now" (because i'm short), with one of them wanting to rub my head like Aladdin's lamp with his forearm. He still does that now.
A few of my friends have called me "Upside Down Head" because of the beard, and most have said I look better now it's all gone. Before this I was shaving it down to a Number 1 every couple of weeks. But I have noticed that I get a lot of funny looks from strangers now though, but I guess that's to be expected.
Still love it though and am keeping it this way! :)

Hi Warren: Glad that you are still loving it and that is all that really matters. The sly life gets better each and every day.

Yep, in the end your own opinion and satisfaction are all that really matter.

Agreed

I find it so funny that it always seems to be the mothers who dislike it most when their "babies" do anything that changes their hair. My mom hated it as well - and I am in my fifties.
Gotta love them.
Welcome, Warren!

Well, you do still have some hair, it's just on the bottom. a Gravity Hair Cut!
Mom, never saw me bald. She passed on before I shaved or even thought of shaving my head.
Sisters have made no comment. Though they don't live in town so I rarely see them.
Immediate family took a while to adjust, but they know I'm serious about this and I'm not going back to hair. So they've adjusted. Sounds like you're in the same situation. Good choice, Warren.

hehe, short and bald does get its advantages when it comes to head rubs -- unless you wear a ball cap. Glad you are happy -- that is what counts !

Sounds like you have had a pretty good overall reaction Warren. Looks good!
My mom doesn't like it either, she doesn't even want to touch it. My dad made a couple of boneheaded comments and I just blew them off. Most of my co-workers have gotten used to it, no one really cared (one said I carried it well, which was nice to hear!)
Managers and supervisors are a different story, they usually won't say anything because if they are in charge of you and say something negative or insensitive, it's usually followed by a visit to the HR department... :)
Keep up the smooth look, good sir, and don't let anyone's negativity get you down.

Looks good on you mate.
Soon enough, people won't even remember you any other way.
And welcome to SBG!
