I bought one of the original HeadBlades eons ago and looking at some of the reviews online, it looks like the ATX is a significant improvement.
How have those of you who have one liked it? I found the original a little lacking but this new model looks better. Of course, I am planning all the usual prep steps to get ready to use it. I love my Fusion Power, it makes a nice smooth melon, like I have right now!
Just want to grow my experience and learning! :)

I just posted a pic of my "original" HB on their page, It's great but I want something that goes 'zoom-zoom-zoom' and by sheer accident leaves my scalp completely smooth.
Funny how that happens with these modern "race machines"... :*))

I upgraded to the ATX S4 and love it. I didn't think the extra weight made much difference until I gave the original another spin.
The S4 has the weight of a Double edge SR combined with the experience of the ATX. It's a little pricey but if you use the SBG discount than it becomes a wise investment.

The ATX is a great razor! Though, many of the original HeadBlade Sport users prefer the sport. I also use the ATX S4 and love it.

I'm one of the ones that prefer the HB Sport to the HB ATX.
I haven't used the HB Original (without the wheels), so can't give you a comparison there.
I find I get a perfectly smooth shave with the Sport using long passes front to back and then long passes from back to front.
I find that with the ATX, I need to vary the pressure depending on where I'm shaving, have to do multiple short passes (more like a stick razor) and often have to lift the wheels off my head. I was never able to get as smooth as the Sport, there were also some sports that were rough.
Note that I started shaving my head just under 2 years ago and went with the HB Sport from day 1.

I love the ATX, that's interesting greatnessinc about the ATX S4. I have it mint in box on my shelf, maybe I should get it out and actually use it. Might have to buy another to keep MIB :)

It's a functional work of art.

It's a functional work of art.
So true

I love the SPORT. I have an ATX that I use from time to time but I find it cumbersome and slow.
The only trouble that I have had with the SPORT is a blown tire, but a spot of epoxy glue fixed it.
I am presently using an HB4 blade, but I find the HB3 more comfortable, faster, and closer.

Interesting thoughts, thanks guys for sharing!
I had a lot of problems at first, I misread the directions and was shaving the wrong way! ::) So much for that - I tried the right way and the results were MUCH better!! ;D
I'm going to lather up and use it again tonight. Practice makes perfect but so far, I like it, the wheels are a nice touch.

I have an ATX myself that I use when I'm in a hurry for a quick headshave. I may use it Friday if my doctor clears me to shave my head tomorrow.

I'm dying to try the ATX. Gotta wait till payday :-(

I've been using the HB ATX for a couple fo days now and it's shaving better and closer than my Schick Hydro3, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried the HB4 Adapter and Cartridge on a HB Sport?

I tried the HB4 blades on my HB Sport with the included adaptor and here's what I found. The blades are very hard to push down to engage your skull, many missed areas and nicks at others. I solved that problem by cutting back the small plastic bump that pushes against the little plastic "spring" on the adaptor, it made it better, not much pressure to get it to shave evenly now. Except, I have a small valley at the base of my skull just above my neck, the HB4 blades sill not get down into that valley going up or down, I have to go over that area from every angle several times to get it smooth. The HB3 blades don't have that problem as they aren't as big as the HB4's.
In conclusion, I'm sticking with my HB3 blades on my HB Sport.
