Title: I Was Forced Into it!
Post by: EN4CER on August 03, 2013, 10:01:47 AM
I am holidaying in Northern Cyprus and its 40c. Took out my Wahl Balding clippers, as I did several days earlier, but this time they left my head patchy. Might be something to do with me sweating like a pig in the heat!  :D

so out came my Philips QC5550s with the balding attachment that I'd never used before and off it all came, now completely Sly and as smooth as a babies bum.

The question is, will I get used to it or revert back to my 0.4 clipper look.?  :)

Me is too shy to post a pic.. Well maybe :-)
My just stare in amazement, as did my son, my daughter as if I'd dyed my hair blonde  :*))

I first shaved with the Philips 5550s, but it takes a very long time, the result is velcro-like, and the shaving head needs to be changed quite frequently.

I have changed to Headblade and will never come back to the electric head shaving.

BTW, I guess you are the first member who was forced into it...

Thanks for your comments. In a way, i suppose we are all kinda forced into it.. Mine was with a matter of urgency.

btw: Has anyone ever told you that you bare an uncanny resemblance to Eric Cantona?   :)

You know what they say, you can lead a head to a blade but you can't make it shave.
The desire has to be there.

Very often indeed. Even yesterday, evening, I met a woman in a restaurant who asked me "have we already met. I feel I know you." I said : "No, I would have remembered, but I guess I have many doubles. For instance I am said to look like Eric Cantona"
The woman said : "Oh, that's it! You remind me of Cantona". Another woman present there, said that I looked even closer to his young brother.

But here in France, Eric Cantona is real famous.

King Eric is famous here in the UK too..

Make my day and tell us about the famous Seagulls quote  :D

Yes he has played in the Manchester team and Leeds, if I remember well.

The seagulls quote must be something like (you have to imagine me mimicking Cantona's voice) :
"The seagulls follow the trawler, because they think sardines wil be thrown in the sea".

Is he a football player or a philosopher (or possibly just a fisherman)? His role is not clear...

Since I've made your day, you might explain us the meaning of this parable...

Sure...

The quotation had a more humble origin.

In 1995, Eric Cantona was at the height of his powers.

But after being sent off in the game against Crystal Palace, he lost control of his emotions as he walked to the dressing room and launched a martial arts-style kick at a fan he alleged had verbally abused him.

Sentenced to 100 hours' community service for assault, Cantona's actions made worldwide headlines.

But his only comment to the press after his conviction was that one sentence.

so, what do you now think?  :-X

Still on Holiday, fly back tomorrow.. Was missing the silky smooth feel, so the Philips QC5550 came out again and totally Sly again..

The test will be, if I can continue when back in the real world.

PS- The family didn't even notice it this time around!

If you missed the "silky smooth feel", chances are you will continue when back in the real world... Once you appreciate the soft dome, it is hard to abandon it.

Concerning the somewhat off-topic Cantona Discussion :

I did not remember this sentence had a link with his famous kick.

According to the context you are referring to, Cantona probably means that he is the trawler, the journalists are the seagulls and sardines are what he is expected to tell them.

Well, I did it again....  :)

Two days before I return to work... I wonder if it will continue!!

I have used the Philips again, as the thought of putting a razor to my head scares me.... I seem to be getting a totally bald look, with the Philips balding attachment anyway..  O0

Can I ask you guys who use Headblade razors, how many head shaves do you get before you need to change the blade?

Cheers

Every 6 or 7 shavings. But I don't use HB blades.
I use the Gillette adaptor on my HB and shave with Gillette sensor blades (which cost around 1 euro each) - much cheaper than HB blades.

Interesting.. I have been shaving my face with Gillette Sensor blades for years..!

So does the HB ATX come with an adapter to take these Gillette blades?

Are the HB blades not as good?

Many thanks

The ATX only comes with the adapter for the HB4 & HB6 cartridges.

Thanks, so where does one get the adaptor from?
