Title: First Shave/Tanning
Post by: nouserhere on July 02, 2013, 06:22:18 PM
Hey guys, I usually trim my hair pretty short (1-3 clipper on an electric shaver), but today I went along with the razor. The blades were pretty dull, so my head didn't appreciate it, but it feels awesome.

And as expected, my scalp's real pale right now. I can't ever recall getting sunburnt, but I do tan quite a lot. My face tan, but the difference between my face and scalp is huge. I'd post a picture, but I have no camera.

Could I get an estimate on how long it'd take for me to get matched up again? I'm a long distance runner, and I usually take my runs (1-2 hours, usually) out when it's hottest. I'm still 16, and not sure what my friends are really gonna think about it. Suppose it won't really matter eventually. It's just something I thought might matter.

Anyway, feeling pretty good about this right now.

Congratulations on going Sly, Woggsy.

It does feel great.

The newly shaved areas will tan, but you cannot rush it.  The areas are very sensitive right now to sun and to your razor. They will burn easily.  Start with about ten minutes of exposure at a time.  And wear sunscreen.

And Welcome.

Welcome to the club, wogsey. My guess is that you should start noticing a tan within a couple of months. It took me only about six or seven months for the color on my scalp to match my face.

I initially used "Neutrogena Build a Tan" tanning lotion and it worked pretty well and doesn't (for me it didn't) turn your skin orange like many tanners do.  Got it at Walmart for about $5.

Ah, thanks for the advice guys. I'm still going with it right now, decided not to buy any tanners since I don't have a part-time job or any source of my own income.

It's going pretty well actually. Fortunately, my friends think it's pretty cool from the past two or so weeks. Better than my expectations. :)
