Hi, everyone,
This is a great community! Thanks for having made it exist.
I'm a bald guy from France. To make a long story short, I would say that I was gradually becoming bald towards my early 30's (now I'm 35). I did not like that at all. So, last summer I just shaved my head bald (but kept my beard).
At first, it was to hide my hair loss. Now I must admit that I love the style and it has improved my relationship with others : I think I have changed and have become more confident - more myself. It is strange how a change in physical appearance creates an inner shift.
See you somewhere on the forum...
Focus.

Definately.
Welcome to the forums mate!

Bienvenue au SBG forum
Ou habitez-vous en France ?
-
Merci, Mr Jules.
J'habite en Vendée.
-
Malheureusement, je ne connais pas Vendée. Mais, j'ai visité Bretagne ... en vélo par Rennes et Redon ! Beacoup de cidre, bien sur.
Vous écrivez bon Anglais. Avez-vous visité Grande Bretagne ?
-
Welcome, Focus! Nice intro; we have plenty of room for all of those "one more bald guys" Glad to have you join us!
-
Shaved head and beard is the way to go - but then I am biased.
As a visitor from Oz France is probably my favourite country.
-
Thank you, everyone.
To Mr Jules : I have visited Great Britain - especially Scotland.
And I have spent 3 months in Ireland. I was working in a bakery in Dublin.
If I have a good written English, it is because I read a lot of self development books and the best ones are American and not translated into French.

Welcome.

G'Day Focus mate O0
Welcome to the Bastion of Baldness!
Enjoy!!

Hello Focus, welcome to the group!
Agree with you totally about how outward appearance and your own feeling of self worth are connected. Self image is a very powerful thing. :-)
-
Thank you again.
While I was writing about this self image I was thinking about an aesthetic surgeon - Maxwell Mountz - who realized people who modified their faces tended to develop a personnality which fitted their new appearance.
And he has developped a concept in which he suggests to consciously develop oneself and learn to reach one's goals without the need for outward changes. The book is "Psychocybernetics". An interesting read.
See you

I do believe that guys, particularly younger who shave their heads have greater feeling of self confidence.

welcome to the brotherhood

Foocus,
Welcome to SLy Bald Guys. so glad that you took the plunge and shaved your head but kept your beard. SO glad that it was a great experience for you. Looking forward to seeing a picture.
Enjoy your new found freedom and enjoy your great smooth sly dome. I sure enjoy the sly look and the self confidence it helped me to develop.
-
Thanks everyone.
For the picture, I cannot send one for the moment because I am not equipped. I'm starting a whole new life (finishing my house, buying or making furniture, have recently bought this computer...).
I'll have to buy a camera and shoot myself. It is a matter of days/weeks.
For the moment, consider I have geeman's face - it's roughly the same ;)

Welcome to the club.

people who modified their faces tended to develop a personnality which fitted their new appearance.
Now that is interesting. I think it's true. Since changing to a bald head and beard, been more confident. And I've found that people come up and talk to me.
Only the other day, I was at a rail station. Overheard one person saying "he looks interesting!". It could only have been me. Or just as likely, I assumed it was. So we got talking....

Thank you again, everyone.

"
This must be a matter of law of attraction. Being more confident (more yourself?), you send a message to the world "Here I am".

what? You mean you're devilishly handsome and a total babe magnet? :)

I'm sure he does!
Welcome Focus, great to have you here. I felt exactly the same change when I shaved my head.

Thanks, Slyfive.

Nice pic, Focus! Beard looks good!

Love the beard and clean noggin! It suits you. Welcome to the club!

Thank you men.
Nice pic, Focus! Beard looks good!
My beard is not thick enough and too bright-haired to create a real beard-style. So I just keep it that way - full beard...
-
Welcome! Great look for you!! O0

Thanks, neighbour.

You look great, congratulations.
