I took the plunge yesterday morning and shaved my head with a Mach III. I've gotten nothing but compliments. Great one-on-one time with my girlfriend last night and an amazing gym workout session this evening.
Plan on giving myself another close headshave before I gone on duty at my firehouse tomorrow evening.
Thanks for all the encouragement!

Congrats man, I did it yesterday for the first time!!! However, I look like a lightbulb right now heh. I got a question, did you go against the grain? I've only gone with the grain and my head isn't smooth, putting on shirts, they get hung up on my 200 grit sandpaper head lol. I'm gonna have to go against the grain.

Dale, my head is fairly tough and I go against the grain. Also since I have had an extremely short buzz and have had the barber shave me semi regularly, my head is now fairly tan.

Cool, KC!!!

good to see everything is going well.

Congrats man - Now keep it sly!

Awesome KC!!!
dalecooper, I find it very hard to get really smooth just shaving with the grain. I also have the velcro effect if I don't shave against the grain.

Absolutely agree but would add you might need to go side to side as well(left/right or right/left or both).

I don't wanna hijack the thread... but, do you guys reapply headslick or whatever cream you're using every time you make a fresh stroke? I've been reading the "routine" thread and will be happy to try out everyone's method. Like warming up the headblade, my head, and leaving headslick on for a couple minutes.

I put cream/gel right before I do the front to back pass and then again right before I do the back to front pass.

Hey KC - well done -
liberating eh!
dalecooper - like the others have said - you have simply got to take the plunge & go against the grain otherwise you'll never get it close enough! However, once it's really short anyway it shouldn't be much of a prob.
Personally I love the feeling when I shave it against the grain.
Good luck!

Dale. don't worry about the lightbulb effect.. I was like that the other week.. but a bit of self taining lotion and some sun you'll be their..
as per the sandpaper effect..
Take a brand new blade, lube and go against the grain.. apply lotion after and you will never look back.

Appreciate all the words of encouragement. Here is a picture of me shaved smooth. Pardon the quality, it was done with a phone camera; will get a better quality picture soon.
