Hi Sly Guys
I’ve been lurking around for about three months and I finally decided to register.
I’ve gotten tons of information from all of you guys, though I wish I had looked here before I tried to Nair my head .. @nn!3
My story is the same as a lot of you, I started losing my hair when I was young. I tried to cover it up with wigs and styling but it was too much of a hassle and I don’t look that good in a comp-over.
My Sly Hubby suggested I just cut it off (maybe tired of paying to get my hair done?) and it’s been gone for six months and I’m not going back!

BGGW...welcome to SBG's O0 , i think you look great sly. My mother started losing her hair in her 30's and it was really hard on her....us guys think we have it so hard when we lose our hair,but we can't even imagine what a woman feels like when she starts to lose hers...glad you finally did it and not looking back, congrats O0 invite the hubby to join us also!

Welcome Bald Girl. You look great Sly. I can only imagine what women go through when they start to loose their hair. What a wonderful husband you have to suggest that you shave it off rather than going through a hair transplant, or wearing a wig. You should suggest to your husband that he join us as well.

As you may already know, this site is awesome.
I joined recently and am amazed at such positive affirmations.
Stick around a while and you will see. Also get Hubby to come in.
I am still on the fence as far as going fully sly, but you seem to have jumped to it.
I have to congratulate you on moving forward.
I plan on joining you and everyone else in slydom this summer, right now I can do buzz at #1.
To echo some of the guys, it's nice to see some strong women on here too.
(maybe Tyler can change it to SBG&G?)

Welcome BGGW. In a way I think it might even be more liberating for a woman to "cross over" than a guy. With all the things a woman does to her hair, which being a child of a hairdresser I have seen alot of things women do, I imagine you were/are a confident person regardless of your hair. Congrats and might I add you definately rock the look O0

I think in the future there will be a lot more women with shaved heads. Just as what happened to men the last 20 years. The number of male shaved heads increased so much (and still is increasing) that that cut became common, and more people are doing it, and so one. I think that will happen also with women in one decade or so.
Back in the past, a shaved head was associated to prisioners or mad people, punishment, etc. Common people did not wanted to be associated to such things. Then a lot of soccer players started to use the sly look and many people imitated them. Society learned to like it. That stimulates people that wish to do it to take that step. I think lots of women would like to that experience and don't do it because it's not a common look for women, but even bald women are starting to be more well accepted by society.

I hope you're righjt Oto as I quite like women with really short hair or totally shaved but I'm not so sure that it's going to really catch on ... check out the article I linked to in the Sly Bald Gals area called "A Woman Shaved - A Sign Of What?"

It's odd that you say that in a thread about a bald woman, though I agree mostly with your point.
What I find interesting is that she totally looks NATURAL being sly. When I clicked on this thread, I didn't know what to expect (Britney Spears-ish in my head), but I was pleasantly surprised to see how natural and beautiful that first picture is.
I guess that's it... espeically as a younger male, I wouldn't expect it to look "natural" as women with hair-loss isn't quite as common as men, but it's meant as a total compliment when I say that I was expecting something shocking, and came upon something completely NOT shocking.
