I went to a great place called Floyd's where this good looking Latina woman gave me a straight-edge head shave. I have to say while it's not perfectly smooth, I'm very pleased with the feeling.
I see a lot of "30 day rule" threads but honestly this seems like my kind of thing just a couple hours after the fact. I'm sure I'll be rocking it for a while- was getting tired of the oily, thinning mop that was attached to my head.

You look great, buddy. Keep to the 30-day-rule as this will help you get into a good routine & helps affirm that you are meant to be a cool, bald guy.

Thanks for continued kind words all!
I went a day without shaving for the first time and it was bittersweet. While I dislike not having a smooth head, it was a welcome relief to my skin. When I shaved the day after, my skin was stronger and healthier and resulted in almost no razor burn. Usually I have a little burn which I mostly attribute to sensitive skin that hasn't adjusted to daily razor use (and that I'm using a DE razor and still learning haha)

I'm not an everyday shaver either...for some reason I enjoy shaving my head more after growing some visible fuzz; so you're not in the minority.
