Title: Hair Replacement Commercials
Post by: don on March 10, 2013, 11:27:32 PM
I have a question. Do you think those commercials for hair replacement either surgical or non surgical is because they really think people look bad bald or strictly for the money part of it so they could fatten their pockets? They show these before and after pictures of guys, trying to show you what a difference hair makes. Personally I think they're just 2 different looks and if a guy is handsome he's gonna be handsome with or without hair. Same if he's ugly. Also I noticed when they show the before pictures the guy's always have too much hair on the sides which accentuates the bald part. They never show a sly guy or a guy like myself with a short stubble. So what do you think?

You are dead on about the commercial advertising going overboard to backup their product, this is something all commercials do, quite often so outrageously  that it makes them look stupid.

As with everything, there is a risk....Two key phrases to keep in mind: "Results may vary" and "Results not guaranteed". With that said, I always ask someone considering such a move: "Isn't going sly cheaper and easier?"

The primary goal of advertising is awareness and (for profit-making companies) to increase revenue.

In addition to the "before" being less than ideal the coloring will often be flat (or even black/white versus color) and the set decoration will be a bit less elegant. Many ways to "downgrade" the before to increase the comparison between the two.
