3 days into the 30 day rule and loving it so far. Back to work after a 2 week break tomorrow so wondering what the comments will be (if any). Time will tell. Already getting hang of shaving by following tips on these board threads. When has enough time passed to shave against the grain from your own experiences?

For me, I was doing it by the third headshave when I started being bald for good almost five years ago....You probably will get various answers, but you could give it a try and see how your scalp reacts.

For me it was "sooner the better" and I started within the first couple of days. Just go easy ...

Welcome - you look great! I went ATG on day 4 of my shaving. Take your time but you will love the smoothness ATG brings.

Shaved with the grain this morning and against the grain tonight before going out for a meal. Still amazed how little shadow I have considering how dark my hair is.

Yes, you don't seem to have much of a shadow.  Nice shine.  And the beam on your face says it all.

You'll be passing your 1 year anniversary before you know it.

Thanks PatZeeB, I was good at disguising my thinning hair up top but was starting to take too much effort so sly bald definitely the choice now.
Thanks Mr Zed, I'm definataly loving the shine!

I'm two weeks into the 30 day rule and loving it! I've thinned out my existing beard because I'm going to try and grow it out fuller and thicker than the style I had.

An impressive transformation. Over the last 18 months, I've lost 10 kilos. Suspect you've lost more. You feel at lot better for it don't you ?

And get those glasses !

Lost more than 8 stone. I had 'mild' heart attack a few years ago and after a long recuperation I got into exercise and healthy eating. Never looked back. I had my eyes done a few years ago but have glasses for when I get tired from too must time sat at the work p.c.

That was a bit of scare. Still, here you are healthy, slimmer and bald.

Drifted into full time glass wear a few years ago. Showing my age.

Thanks mate, I find it hard to think I was that way once sometimes but it's a very easy lifestyle to slip into when you work in an office. I have pictures like one attached all over my house to remind me why I exercise and ignore doughnuts these days! Ha ha!

Great weight loss for you as well eh! I am healthier, slimmer and definitely balder but more importantly I'm happier. Being able to 'carry off' the bald look is a bonus!

Well I'm 3 weeks (21 days) into baldness now. The beard is come along nicely and the numbness I had initially when shaving has gone.  The shadow after I shave has lessened as well so very happy with all results so far.

Nearly at your 30 days Adamski ! Be patient with your beard. 1-2 months from now, your efforts will be rewarded.

Yup Mr Jules, I've got a lot of patience. I used to have a big full beard back in my college days and my beard grew a lot slower back then. Definitely looking forward to seeking what it will look like in its full glory.

I'm at 60+ days now and I'm in shock -- it feels like it's been both a million years and half a minute.

Obviously the beard piece doesnt apply to me but the time goes so quickly!  I've been looking into updating my piercings and tatts quite a bit more since I went sly.   New accessory option :)

BTW Adamski really like your new profile pic.  Very handsome.

56 days done and loving my sly life. Very happy now I've had a couple of days very careful exposure to sunlight. Nicely lightly tanned head and as many of you have said it does make my hair shadow far less noticeable.

The easiest and best way to maintain a shiny dome is to keep aloe vera gel chilled in the fridge. Apply to the dome as an after shave. Works every time!  O:O
Congrats on your weight loss. I know it's quite an accomplishment.  O0

What color was your hair that you had on your head?

I just shaved mine finally got it feeling smooth all the way around but my head is white as a ghost! And some shadow

Hi Lucasheppner, my hair is dark brown (what's left if it). Once your head gets a bit of a tan you will find your shadow lessens. I'm not too bothered about the shadow myself, it's like a badge of honour saying I'm making the choice to be bald. I'm very thin on top. I could grow a head of hair with strategic combing to cover the bald bits but it doesn't look very good to be honest so sly all the way.

Lucas, I can't see your shadow in that close up picture. If you see on, it's a matter of being too close to see something that others don't see. And if there is any shadow, again, claim it as a bold statement that I choose to be bald.

Yes, the color will come in time.
