Title: First Time DE Shave

Had my first DE face and head shave today. Just received a Merkur Futur DE razor from Amazon. Came in about 1 week with free shipping. Used baby oil as a pre-lube and then a nice soapy lather with a boar brush. Set the razor setting on 1.5 (relatively non-aggressive) and had a wonderful close shave to both my face and head. On my head I used the HB for round 1 and then cleaned it up completely with the DE razor. Would highly recommend this as a very satisfying old school shave experience. No nicks or cuts either so success for me meant a proper pre-lube and going slowly with short strokes. Highly recommend this not only for the shaving experience but the cheaper cost factor with blades. Razor came with 5 DE Merkur blades which performed very well.

I recommend getting an Alum stick as well. I thought I could get by without one but after seeing blood on my pillow, I decided to get one. I got a RazoRock alum stick. Basically it stops the bleeding in minor nicks, not sure how it'd fair with a cut (testing that out is not plan A).

Yay!  I just ordered my first DE razor today plus RazoRock alum and some nice accessories.  :)
