Peter Gabriel, I think his music is very introspective and has a lot of "texture." I get lots of imagry when I listen to his music and close my eyes.
Aimee Mann, Introspective and thoughtful
and Duran Duran, fun and some of it has good texture.

Just what is wrong with that? But it depends on what type of "Country" you're talking about.

I seen Live 3X in concert, great band. Pillars of Davidson is my favorite...
I would say them, the Doors, or Pink Floyd.
