Good morning from the north west. I just came across the site and thought it would be nice to chat and see what other people do to care for there domes. I had been putting off the shaving my dome shaving for years but this last christmas I saw the pictures of me with my son unwrapping gifts and said it is time to except it and start shaving my head. I look forward to talk to many of you. I am currently in Washington state but travel for the military and will be relocating to colorado soon.

Hello, welcome and cheers for sharing your story!
-
Welcome! I'm a Washington native myself. I think you'll find it feels good to shave it off!

Welcome my friend. Am I to understand that you haven't yet shaved the old brain-box?
If you haven't yet done it then you are in for a real treat. Not only will it be the neatest and tidiest haircut that you've ever had but many [I'm pretty sure 99%+] of the brothers here find that it is a great and liberating feeling to be free of the "tyranny of hair".
No more worrying about covering up the bald spot, caring which way the wind blows or getting wet in the rain. You will always look your best even first thing in the morning straight out of bed and presenting your head to the world without extraneous dead matter attached makes for a much more open and honest conversation with others.
I am sure that you will feel much freer and happier once you have done it and if you are lucky, like me, it will take zero time to adjust to your handsome new look. If you are "unlucky" then it may take a few days to adjust but so what -- the feeling of freedom and being liberated from hair worries is worth it.
You probably don't believe me about how free you will feel after shaving it off [I wouldn't have believed it if someone had told me] but it is true.
You are one lucky fella having such an easy, cheap way to so greatly improve your life so quickly.
When you feel it is right how about posting a pic for your avatar so we can see what you look like? You can always update it once the deed is done.

G'day Eric, welcome to the family. I'm sure you'll find all the information you need here. If you are looking for something in particular we have a really handy search feature, if you still have no luck we'll be happy to help out any way you can. I think we are yet to be stumped yet!

Welcome, Eric! And thank you for your service!

Thank you all for the warm welcome I started the 30 day challenge yesterday. I went a week with it buzzed to see how that would go and yesterday I had the day off I got up and took a hot shower and said it was the day to do it. I kind of laugh because yesterday and today have been really cold days so I know people probably think I am nuts. I shaved my head yesterday with a mach 3 and today did the first pass with my mach 3 then the second pass with my Merkur DE razor and got a nice close shave. My wife was supportive when I showed her a picture of how bad it had got, and that this was something I really wanted to do. I am getting ready to PCS so I wont get a lot of reactions from work people until my going away party. I thought it would be easier doing it when I was going somewhere new and letting them know me only as my new SLY self. Other then head being a little cold I have really liked it. O0

Welcome Eric,
good luck with the 30 day challenge!
By the way, nice avatar photo.

Good job Eric, one down many more to come.
-
Welcome Eric ... it's really so much easier to make the change than people expect. Enjoy the change.

G'day mate, I'm glad to see you took the plunge, and are loving it. I head shaved in winter too, and while Aussie winters are much milder, I still pretty much lived in my beanie for most of it. Good luck with the 30 day challenge, not that you will need it! O0

Welcome aboard Eric!

Welcome from another Washingtonian! You mentioned it being cold so I'm guessing you're from the dry side? If not, we're very, very cold on my side (got down to -6 the other night).

WOW. If that is Fahrenheit then it is below minus 21 Centigrade which is colder than my deep freezer. I have never felt something that cold but I would love to see what it is like for a little while. I imagine that it would make for a few problems like frozen pipes etc and the heating costs must be prodigious.
I met a bloke from Russia the other day and was talking about the recent cold weather there so I asked him what was the lowest temperature he had ever experienced and quick as a flash he said minus 49 C which is minus 56 F which is just incredible. He said though that it only stays like that for a couple of days and then goes up to minus 29 C or so. Where I live is considered cold but the lowest it gets is about minus 5 C or +5 F which is positively balmy by your standards.

Welcome to the bald brotherhood Eric. Enjoy the freedom. You look great bald.

Welcome from another guy who first shaved his head in January (a year ago, Jan 19th. )
I love it. You look good exporting a shaved head. And your strategy for doing it just before going on assignment, I think, is good.
-
Welcome Eric, I am also a newcomer as well
Enjoy being sly!
-
Eric,
