Title: How do I .....
Post by: jordan23 on June 02, 2007, 08:49:21 PM
Hi all, new to the forum but have been shaving my head on and off for years. My question is, when I shave my head, it is smooth, but you can still see a hairline. How do I get a shave that makes it go away? I want my shaved head to look just like my forehead.

Did I explain it right? Can anyone help?

Thanks to everyone, keep up the good work!

Welcome Jordan.  Unfortunately, the shadow only goes away as your hair recedes (or turns grey).  Getting a little color helps the shadow be less noticeable.  There's nothing much else you can do about it.  Just wear it proudly.  The world will know that the 'shaved you' is exactly what you want.

I echo what Stew said.  One more thing, if you're not already shaving against the grain, it might help you get a bit more smooth and take away a bit of the shadow.

All I can add is when I use the Glossy HeadLube the shine helps the shadow disappear just a little.   ::)

Now I need to get rid of the "sun freckles"!  :(

I agree with Tyler, once I started going against the grain with my second pass, the "shadow" was reduced.  Cheers!

Alot of the shadow also depends on the color of your hair... the darker your hair means the more prominent your shadow is.  A good tan on the ol' noggin helps too...

jordan,

I think the only way to totally get rid of the shadow would be to have the hair removed including the root. Good advice already about shaving against the grain, and using a glossy moisturizer.

I have male pattern baldness, and even though I'm gray, there is still some shadow wear I still have hair. You're still Sly even with the shadow!
