Hey everyone. I found these forums while searching the intertubes for how not to slice up my head, since I decided to go for the full chop. I started 'thinning' way back around 17yo and without even noticing I became that guy who lives in his hat. Seriously. My 3 roommates who I have lived with for over a year, finally saw me hatless for the first time yesterday lol. The girlfriend has been hinting for a while that I should just go for it and shave what little hair I had left off. Actually, she went beyond hints and wanted to shave it for me but I wouldn't want to be dependant on her to get it done right. Finally a couple days ago I gave in and did the deed. It's only been a couple days but I'm loving it. Haven't even thought of putting my cap on since I finished, and can't believe I put this off so long.
Anyway, while finding all sorts of good information on these forums, I noticed there's a pretty cool group of guys here so I thought I'd stick around for a bit.

Looks great voodoo, especially with the beard. A big advantage if you can get your girlfriend or wife on board as you have.
How about tellling us what sort of razor you used, how you found it to be and perhaps indicating in your profile which country you are from if you feel comfortable doing that.
It must be great to be liberated from "having" to wear a hat or cap. Welcome to the Free, Liberated Brotherhood of Bald Bastards [FLBBB]. If you stick around long enough you will be able to qualify for membership of the Free, Liberated Brotherhood of Old Bald Bastards [FLBOBB].
Just so that no one is offended let me point out that in strine [ http://lmgtfy.com/?q=define%3A+strine ] bastard is a term of affection especially when preceded by the word "old".

Welcome to the forum and congratulation for taking the plunge, looks good!

Welcome along voodoosyxx, glad you have felt it positive aspects since you shaved.

Welcome mate,
Glad to hear you are liking the new look! It's definately a lot easier than having hair.
Beep you enjoy.

Bald works for you. You did a good thing. Enjoy your smooth dome, and welcome.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm enjoying my new membership in the FLBBB :)
I started out with the HeadBlade Sport, because that's what they had at the local Walgreens. It is a bit awkward though and I had a couple cuts with it. Already ordered the ATX and hoping it's a bit better, but it'll be a day or two before I can give it a try.

Thanks, man! I'm pretty happy with the sly look so far, and had all positive reactions, so I definitely plan to keep it going. I have 4 tats so far. Throat, right bicep, left bicep and forearm. Planning on many more, as funds allow.

Welcome to the bald brotherhood. Looking really good and nice ink.

Love the look of the throat tat Voodoo but it looks like is says 'ANDREA'.
I've gotta say that unless that's your wife's name that is really brave of you. Are you still with Andrea or am I misreading it? If you're not with her any more is it ever a problem? Possibly it could be an advantage letting women know that you are prepared to commit in a big way. Not sure, but maybe.
Be interested to hear of your experience with it -- also just out of interest what year was it done and how much did it cost?

Aye! It does say Andrea. That was the ex-wife. It was done roughly five years back and we had been married for seven years before I had it done. If I remember correctly I paid $80 plus tip for that one at Bonehead Tattoos in Fort Worth, TX. It hasn't been an issue really. I've only worked for one employer who even mentioned it and it wasn't any huge deal. My girlfriend and I joke about it occasionally. She says I should just get a black strikeout done through it and I'm considering a red VOID stamp over it ;)

That would be fantastic. And then you could get the new partner's name just above or below it. I think that VOID is best but you could also use INVALID or NULL or CANCELLED or REVOKED.

G'day Voodoo, I've already chatted with you over at the bearded thread, but let me formally welcome you to the family.
I honestly would never have picked you for recently going sly, you look a natural O0
Hopefully you become an active member around here, and good luck again with your beard endeavours in the new year!
-
Thanks bro. Yeah, I kinda wanted to kick my own butt for not having done it sooner. The sly look is about the best natural look I'm ever going to have, so I might as well own it.

That's it bro, and you certainly do own it! You are preaching to the choir though man, everyone wants to kick their butt for not doing it sooner!

Once again -- so true.
Sorta sorry that my father didn't have a chance to try it before he died -- at least we all hopefully have many, many years of slickness to come. We are the lucky ones.

Hi Voodoosyxx: Welcome to the sly fraternity. I cannot imagine you with hair. You look like a natural.

Welcome to the forum VoodooSyxx, good to have you join us. Sounds like you're happy with your choice to shave it off, and many of us have said the exact same thing about wishing we'd done it sooner.
Ditch the hats, and enjoy the freedom of a smooth dome. O0
