Hey every one this is something I do on FB quite often
So I decided to try it here
with all the different types of people here this may work well.
I allow clients to listen to their own music when I tattoo them.
(providing its not to annoying to me)
but due to that I have amassed quite a large and diverse collection of music.
lets make a list of either our favorite artists or what is in current rotation.
Here is a example:
1. Band of Horses - folk rock
2. Dan Auerbach - folk rock
3. Cold - rock
4. RED - rock
^those have been some of my current rotation
Im a big fan of older country like:
Vern Goslin
George Jones
Buck Owens
The Kendalls
This may be able to help turn some others onto some new tunes.
With resources like youtube and such, lists like this make it possible to go and search some of the artists listed
and allow each person to get a idea on if they are interested in that artist of genre of music.
I hope that this thread grows and that people participate.
:D

Razor yes you are correct
( I use a mobile device to access the site and the keyboard is wonkey for me)
It would seem that you and I have very similar tastes in music

I like a wide variety of artists, too many to list here. Let's just say I listen to pretty much everything except rap music. Or crap music as I usually call it.
-
A quirky mix:
Neil Sedaka - pop/rock
Cat Stevens - folk rock
Three Dog Night - rock
Pointer Sisters - R&B
Beach Boys - rock
come to mine quickly ...
-
Depends who I am with I like all music if it is not good I leave or say it would be nice if you changed that stuff.

That never happens to me. ::) ;)

if you list the band and the genre type net to it it may make it easier for those thinking of looking it up
get a idea of if there interested or not.
exp:
Ray Lamontagne - FOLK
Glad to see some of the members joining in ^-^
-
My tastes are eclectic:
The Clash - punk
Dave Brubeck - Jazz
Keith Jarrett - modern jazz
Joe Jackson - pop/rock
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer - rock
Moody Blues - rock
-
This is an awesome Idea, I'm glad to see some metal has already snuck it's way in \m/
My top 5 favourite bands are:
Disturbed - Heavy Metal (some would say numetal)
Sonata Arctica - Power Metal
Nightwish - Symphonic Power Metal
Metallica - Heavy Metal
Korpiklaani - Finnish Folk Metal
There are also some local bands that I'd probably rate higher then them... but their stuff will probably only be youtubable or maybe itunes
Damnations Day- Melodic Trash Metal (unofficailly released Album)
Teramaze - Progression Metal (their new ablum has scroed a 9 or higher for most international reviews I've read)
Death Audio - Melodic Death Metal (Just released their first Album yesterday!)
Keys to Perdition - Power Metal (You'll find their stuff on youtube)
Death of Art - Cyber Goth Rock (I'd actually put these guys closer to metal... but that is what they call themselves! They have an EP out and lots of stuff on youtube)
Music is a topic I could talk all day about, as long as you don't start talking too technical haha

Come on now dont be afraid, musical tastes are so diverse..
one person may be able to turn you on to a huge spectrum of new tunes
so think of what a bunch of people may be able to turn you onto???
This really does work best if you list the artist name along with the musical genre (style of music)
for there are some who dont prefer the tastes of rock, or some who dont like rap, or country ect
so having the genre next to the artist gives potential listeners I idea on what they may be interested in hearing.
Post on brethren dont be shy... Just be sly... :D

Did I miss any, of course I did.

This You Tube video (bank commercial with the bald guy), has been posted here before.
I really like the music on this one. Old style, but one of my favorites. Listen to the backup singers and their harmonies. Sounds like the Beach Boys did the arrangement. Wish I could find the entire song. Googled it, but only partial lyrics came up on an AOL password restricted page. Guess it was not that popular.
And the appearance of the bald guy really tops it all.

Wow. I don't follow most of these bands above. Put me down for the BEatles, Stones, Zepp, Steely Dan, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and The Doors.
-
I like most of the Motown music. They were just good singable songs with accompaniments that you can feel in your soul.
-
I like:
-Jimi Hendrix
-The Doors
-The Beatles
-Led Zeppelin
-Boston
There are more but I am usually listening to one of these bands.

-
Adams Fiona Apple
Bach Pat Benatar
Chopin Eric Clapton

Nielsen Stevie Nicks
Orff... Roy Orbison...
I think you can get the idea.

Check out Unwrapped by Hidden Beach Productions. They take popular rap songs and turn them into Jazz. You'll like it even if you don't like rap.
