Ok so i have a nice job in the summer but its seasonal only, so i need to move at the end of october. I need to start planning now so its not a last minute thing. I'm not sure how long I'll stay, but through the winter atleast then I'd either move again or stay longer. I like drifting :)
As for my requirements: I'm a bartender/waiter so I shouldnt have a tough time finding work anywhere. But a town with a good bar + restaurant scene is always a plus. I like outdoorsy stuff, mountains, hiking, golf, and biking. Basically a fun place to live is what i want. I'd rather go without snow, I've had enough of that in Maine. I could handle it for like a month or something if i have to though, but maines winter from nov to april is too long
Places I'm kinda thinking about: Austin, TX. Albuquerque, NM. San Diego. Maui (i have some friends out there right now). I like the bay area but that would be pricey i think
Maui would be awesome, but i cant bring my car which is also kind of a hobby of mine, to work on it and race it. and it would be expensive. Austin is supposed to be a really fun town so that might win out.
Anyone have any ideas? Where would you go for a winter if you could go anywhere?

I used to live in Honolulu now in Plam Springs, CA, like both of them, climate great in each, not to far from San Diego. California is the place to be! No snow again for me, former Minnesotan!

If you ask me, San Diego is one of the greatest cities, but Austin is right up there. You may want to think about Phoenix also. All three have great nightlifes and hot chicas.

Phx is good! If you looking big city I would rank Phx, austin, san diego, alb. if you want to get more country and more true outdoors you can look at a lot of the towns that have army and marines stationed in em. We drink a lot and luv to play outside.

San Diego is too expensive!
Check out Reno Nevada! O0

When you mentioned mountains, hiking and all that good stuff, Albuquerque is the first place I thought of. I have lived here most of my life, and it's great. Winter is usually not too bad. We had a very wet winter this year, but it affects the mountains more than Albuquerque itself. If there are any questions you have, I would be glad to answer them for you.
Good luck in your decision!

Chicago has a fantastic bar/club/restaurant scene... even in the winter months!

There's always Vegas. I know a promoter there that might be able to introduce you to some people.

Oh trust me I've thought of Vegas. But i dunno, i think i'd end up tossing all my tips on the craps table.
Oooh i just checked out average temps online, alb gets kinda cold! phx and austin look better in that way.
what about on the east siiiide? The restaurant I work at now has another place in west palm so i can go there easy, I just have little interest in florida. I could golf a lot there though. Ive been to charleston, SC and that was a neat place, not sure if i could live there though

Livestrong, I'm in Savannah and Golf is everywhere. Hilton Head is a throw away. Winters aren't bad but summer can be blistering. Shorts till december!! Kind of a laid back town to a degree. We get more visitors each year.
