Title: PTSD
Post by: theman on October 25, 2012, 12:05:19 PM
I have been speaking with another brother on the board, about this matter.  First , I will say I am sorry for the blowing since I became a member of the board.  I am mostly a hermit anymore.  Due to PTSD.  I found the board and I didn't have to go out but I still messed up.  Which I am sorry for, but I do not believe in excuse's .  I was self medicating.  Wrong thing to do !  I thank you for all the kindness shown towards me.  PTSD is suffered by Milatary, Law Enforcement, Firemen, all if they have been in a Post Traumatic Stess  !  When chatting with my friend here, we both found out that there are other occupations than Military that suffer from this.

God only knows we don't like it.  But we have to know what to do about it.  And I did the wrong thing. I would ask for your forgiveness.  And will not get on the board if I am not feeling well.

Thank You , God BLess and have a great day !   O0

PTSD is hard for people to deal with....but it can be handled....and beaten.....just have to remember that there is no shame in asking for help if you need it. The real shame is when you need help and don't ask for it. It's huge when you meet others going through similar situations. Thanks for sharing!

NO WORRIES sir.  I was very surprised to read that "ungentleman" post.  One thing about the internet or social media is that before you "press" that send or enter button you cannot delete or take back what has been said.  A lot of the sly brothers were upset with that post because most of us do not act in that aggressive way.

Again... I know that it will not be repeated again.  I hope that you will be able to control the PTSD.  You have a lot of energy and I can tell you want more people to respond to your posts or participate in the discussions.  However.... there are many members here who just like to be quiet and just listen to the discussions.  Remember.... there are a lot of listeners here who do not actively post.  I like to do both.  I love to listen but I also like to "talk" to our members by actively participating.

As most of you know... my hobby is safety razors most especially double edged razors. It's like when I talk about safety razors in the Safety Razor Section of the Forum.  Of course... I want every body to participate and post pics and share their SOTD but I know there are many who just choose to listen and not participate in the Safety Razor Section of the Forum.

Take care and hope you do not get offended by my post.  It's just that we (as moderators) try to keep the gentlemanly ways here on SBGs.  We cannot accept anything less than that.

Harry is so right. If you think you need help than reach out for it.

Thanks

Asking for help and prayers was and is a big first step. No one should go through this alone.

Just take it a day at a time. Don't worry about tomorrow or next week or next month. You do come out the other side eventually.
