Just as promised about 1 month ago on this thread http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=18214.0 I will do my self a favor and get rid of my 10inch+ long, curly, mpb suffering hair and go completely sly :)
Well the time has come and I have made an appointment with my barber for sunday morning (almost 24 hours from now) and asked him to shave me with a razor, no clippers etc.
I'm really looking forward to it (that's a good thing I guess) but I won't say more for now. I'll keep the talking for when the deed is done and keep you updated with my experience, some photos and a huge thanks for the supportive SBG community!
Wish me good luck, and thank you all for the motivation :)
(I edited the initial post and added a few pictures, enjoy :) )
(Edit No2 with new pictures after sahving with a razor instead of a no guard buzz)

;) Getter done , you will love it. What would really be neat is to have before and after pics. . LOL , you will wonder why it took you so long. O0

I have posted a couple of pictures on the thread I mentioned so you guys can see the difference before and after. I actually have a big live show with my band on Saturday so I wanted it to be my last live show with long hair that's all. If it wasn't for this I would have done it like a couple of weeks ago.
-
Sorry about that had a brain fart. Yes you are going to love it . Good luck with the show.
-
Looking forward to your new look... Goodluck bro.
-
keep us updated!
-
Enjoy the experience and post an after photo!

Here's wishing you luck...but I don't think you will need my luck, as you will be looking good like a SLY guy should!
-

It is finally done! I actually went for a no guard clipping as I thought it looks GREAT! I'll totally try a razor though pretty soon.
The whole experience was great, very liberating. What's funny is that I actually believe I look great except from feeling great. When most of you guys said that everyone feels great with a shaved head and there's not a single person out there not looking good sly I thought you were just exaggerating ( sorry just being honest :P ). However, right now I'm really convinced that everyone looks great without hair, it looks so natural. Even my dad who was really worried about how I would look like, told me I look great in a very honest way.
I will probably post some pictures of the new look tonight or tomorrow, so other people can see this and get motivated to shave their heads just like I did. Thanks to the whole community, really supportive. I wouldn't have done this without all those reports of people feeling free and handsome with a shaved head. I will stick to the forum so I help people feel great just like you did for me.
Thanks again

That sounds and looks good !!! O0

It is finally done!
Congratulations! It really is an exquisite experience. I wish you continued enjoyment as you settle into Slydom.

Hey Witness,
I think you look great. Can't wait to see you sly.
-
Nice!

You look like a natural bald guy. Good work. You know how much you like the buzz look? Well shaved bald will be even better. You won't want to go back to hair again.
Looks good. Congratulations on the big step of buzzng your head.you're almost there.
-
It looks really good. Suits you, very "Chris Daughtry" though Im not sure if that is a cool thing or not!
-
I believe this is a great change for you; the short buzz looks great.
If you think the no-guard clipper is great... well the razor it's just better.
Congratulation for the progress!
-
The "zero" buzz looks great but a razor shave is a whole different look & feel. Thanks for posting & like the others looking forward to seeing the smooth shaved head, mate.

You look great Witness.

Looks great man! I know the pains of MPB for a young guy. I just turned 22 and have been balding since about 20. It happened really fast. I've always had think hair due to my Norwegian heritage, but my hair was falling out and receding at this point.
Went to the buzz for a while, and now I shave it. It's just one less thing to worry about and has gone a long way for my confidence.
I enjoyed my long blonde hair all through my youth. I had a feeling this day would come. My dad, uncles, and grandpas were all bald. I just hoped I'd get a little more time.
Oh well! Welcome!

Thanks for your post I really appreciate it. I find it a bit relieving that people like you know what I've been throught with the MPB ( even though my thinning has started since 15yo).
The buzz worked great for me and right now I'm able to do things I wouldn't do before because of my worries about thin hair. I'm so confident, I feel like I can acomplish everything!

Great how that turned out for you !

Once you shave it with a razor, trust me, you will love it more. I'm 24 now, and I have been shaving my head for about a year. Mainly daily, sometimes I skip a day. I would venture to say that I am a Norwood 3, with a dramatic loss of hair occurring when I was turning 23.
In all honesty, going bald was one of the best things that ever happend to me. It allowed me to be me, without hiding behind a bad hairstyle. Luckily for you, you look to have the perfect shaped head for it. Like myself, I didn't notice how round my head was until I shaved it. If and when you decide to razor it, try the Panasonic Linear series of razors, specifically the LA63 (recommended by Red as well I believe). It's much more gentle then clippers, and just as close as a razor.

looks way better - well done

I have 2 days off from university so I gave the razor shave a try today. It was really fun and no cuts at all except a minor one on my left ear plus it took me only about 17-18 minutes. The difference in appearence is little, however, the feel is really funny I can't stop rubbing the damn head!
I don't think I will even try stick to everyday shave for now as the no guard buzz satisfies me but maybe I'll shave every few days when I have the time. Anyway, I also edited the topic's first post and added 2 new pictures tell me what you guys think!
-
You can definatly tell the difference in the pics between the buzz and the total bald look. Keep up the shaving - looks great on ya

Gotta agree. I think bald is the better look for you.
-
Shaved look looks great!
-
Agreed - the shaved head looks great!
-
Also, once you get the hang of shaving your head, it is easier than buzzing it.

It will be quicker too, with some practice you can half your time easily.
-
Great you did it, looks good!
Considering keeping it shaved or going for the 0 buzz?

Well I haven't shaved or buzzed my head for 2+ days now in order for my shaving irritation to wear off completely. I will probably shave with a razor again tomorrow morning and depending on my skin's reaction I'll decide how often I will pick a razor shave over a 0 buzz. The buzz suits me just fine for now and without any irritations.
-
Yes, let the irritation go away and then try again.
You don't have to shave every day, experiment and see what works better for you.
-
Looking good Witness, it really suits you 8)
Thanks for sharing your story and pictures :)
-
Agreed...Shaved on you looks great! I shave everyday, because I can't get get enough of rubbing my bald head :-)
