It has been a crazy weekend in the NFL....Six observations for Week Six
1. Seven of the twelve games played this week (so far, not including the Sunday and Monday Night games) have been decided by three points or less. Of those seven games, five of them had a field goal attempt as the game's final play (four made, one missed)
A sixth one, (Dallas/Baltimore) had a missed field goal on the next-to-last play. The seventh (Patriots/Seahawks), New England blew a 13-point lead by giving up two late touchdowns to lose by one point.
2. With Buffalo and Detroit winning road overtime games, home teams are now 3-4 in overtime games this season
3. The AFC East is now a four-way tie at 3-3 (Mediocre?)
4. Arizona makes a 61-yard field goal to tie the game late in the fourth..and then misses a 38-yarder to win at the end of regulation
5. Kansas City has not beaten Tampa Bay in 19 years..and now must wait another four years to get another chance.
6. It only took six weeks, but all 32 teams have a win now (Congrats, Browns)! Last year, it took nine weeks before our last winless team won its first game.....
Thoughts?

The Raiders' loss to Atlanta falls squarely on the coaching staff. The defense was holding one of the top offenses in check, and driving for the winning FG. 3rd and 6 on Atl's 28 with 2+ minutes left in the game. They pass, Samuel intercepts, pick six.
McFadden scores with 0:40 left to tie the game. Coach Allen ices the Atl kicker (Bryant), however he missed the 55 yard kick. Re-kick is good, Raiders lose by 3 as time expires.
Very POed Raider fan here.

The Buffalo/Arizona game was a classic case of whoever makes the last mistake loses.....The Cardinals had their chances....The Eagles win the choke award for this week, IMO.....@Schro- You're right, I wish the Raiders had pulled off the win today, they played so well! The 1972 Dolphins should be popping champagne bottles now with Houston losing tonight.
Why do coaches insist on icing the kicker especially on long field goals?? On a side note, I stunk up the joint today on my parlay tickets ;D >:(

LOL I think someone stumbled into the wrong topic!
As a Bills fan (yes, I know, why on earth would I be a Bills fan?), I couldn't believe they won that. It was shown that the 38 yard missed FG was tipped, however, so it did make a little more sense. Even with the HORRID play calling and the lack of a competent QB in Buffalo they somehow pulled out the W. I'm speechless.

The Eagles fans are thinking about getting those paper bags out.

Yeah, I read this morning that Feely's kick on the final play (in regulation) was tipped, hence the ball hitting the upright on the 38-yarder....Truth to be told, overall, Buffalo did outplay Arizona (if you base the game on protecting the quarterback especially) The playcalling was bad for both teams. As far as a competent QB, both quarterbacks can be good with protection (maybe not in the class of Brady, Brees, Rodgers or the Mannings) and one that you can win with

I don't know, Tom....If the Saints lose in Tampa on Sunday, Saints fans may be first.....FWIW, the Eagles and Saints play each other on Monday Night three weeks from today, so maybe both teams' fans can have a paper bag fest LOL ;D ;D
What is wrong with Vick this season???
BTW, fellas, I have NFL Sunday Ticket enabling me to see any game on Sunday afternoon (at least the ones that I am off)
The two late CBS games had exciting endings, whereas the two late FOX games were a joke....(although the Vikings made it a little interesting towards the end....)

It was definitely a wild weekend. It goes to show you that there are no guarantee wins with any favorites.

I hear ya WH! Both my Texas teams got beat... My Cowboys left me with a WTF moment against B'more (my GF team BTW) and the Texas didn't even bother to show up against Green Bay! Oh well, as they say, Any Given Sunday...8)

I think he has taken one to many hits Harry. They need to sit him down to take a little rest.

Lions win.....................but continue to look pretty bad. Not the season I was hoping for,at least not yet.

Did anyone see the Broncos comeback/Chargers chokejob last night....While Manning was great....again....the Broncos should have given a game ball to Uncle Phil (Rivers).....Raise your hand if you turned off the game at halftime ;D ;D
-
Go broncos. Woo hoo. Awesome 2nd half.
-
I watched in utter amazement. I went back and forth with the MNF and WS. That was a big choke job and shows you that P. Rivers is NOT an elite QB and Peyton Manning is. Unbelievable ending of another wild week. I wonder what will happen next week.

i too went back and forth with the WS and NFL and did not realize how many games were that close until Harry brought it to my attention...other than sporting a SLY dome, there is nothing better than football season!

Agreed, BK! The NFL is so dominant among all of our sports right now....What other sport actually has a TV show for the release of the regular season schedule in APRIL?!......I can't seem to get that song "San Diego Super Chokers-I mean Chargers" out of my head...Oh, well on to week 7!
