Hi guys,
Well obviously I'm new here. I started losing my hair when I was around 19 years old. Wasn't that big of struggle actually because my old hairstyle covered it very well (http://blog.frisorska.se/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/alexander_skarsgaard_klassisk_sidbena.jpg) - this kind of hairstyle almost, and most of my hair loss was covered by my choice of hairstyle. Buuuuut, as most of you know... things happen to a man's scalp. I'm 26 now, and for about a year I've been realising that it's just stupid to keep it that way. There are so many things that make you feel uncomfortable when choosing to have hair when you are going bald. I mean, just a strong wind or the rain will ruin the night. Even lying in the bed next to your girlfriend... damn. I always have to "fix" my hair so it looks OK for super sexy time ;) . Oh... I mean: HAD TO. I shaved it all off about a week ago. O0
Feels a bit weird. But not that bad - thanks to you! I sincerely mean it!
The "only" part of me that thinks it's weird is my inner musician. I'm a musician and have also been reviewing music - it's my life! And having hair has been part of my personality when it comes to that. So in a way it feels sad, but I would be more sad showing off myself going bald. And I wound never eat pills or do surgery to fix it - for me, that's just sad. So I started watching Youtube videos of people going bald and shaving their heads... also reading alot on the subject. I found that there are lot of "sexy/hot/cute - whatever" guys who are bald to. You know, when you have hair you just don't think about it. It's just the demon inside your head that says that going bald is ugly and bad. But it IS NOT! Going bald is just a turn in appearance - could be better of worse, it all depends how you see yourself. And right now I'm ambivalent about it - but I think it will be better. I just need to get used to it and get my confidence up (and showing it of to ALL my friends).
BTW: I'm from Sweden, so I hope you overlook the grammatical errors :x!
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Bald is not something awkward, not anymore!

Hey mate, you rock the sly look! It wont be long before you realise it yourself. I always find it awesome when a young guy like myself bucks the trend and goes sly (I will be 26 within the fortnight). Make sure you do the 30 day rule to show off your new found slyness to all your friends in all of it's glory! What kinds of reactions have you already been getting from your friends and family?

Welcome to the bald brotherhood Darre. You wear the bald look really well.

Hmm, well I have only met my mother when it comes to family (my father isn't with us anymore). She was actually quite positive about it - said I look more mature and that I have a good head shape for it. So I guess it was ok.
Since I've only been sly for a week I haven't met that many friends either - only my best friend. He said I look great with it 8)
My girlfriend was very sceptical at first, but also supportive. I think she is getting used to it - but like myself she is not there yet. Its a bold look :px

Oh, and also thank you all for your comments - you guys are great!
At first I was almost starting to regret posting my picture - I guess it's a habit being anonymous online ;D

Weldome darre,
I think you look quite confident in your photo ... even if you are not totally convinced of that inwardly. That will come soon.

Thanks darre ... I actually am a really nice guy (blushing). It's taken a lot of years to really develop the being that I am, accept and appreciate all aspects of me, and I'm very content - which simply draws more people to me who create great friendships and endless opportunities for laughter. (And speaking of laughter, a bald head can be a really good foundation for self-deprecating jokes).
My septum piercing - which I've had for years - is the first thing which made me stand out from the crowd. It is who I am. If people don't like it they don't need to spend time with me. My true friends either like it or just don't care. Which made shaving my head so much easier. I'd already learned that genuine people (whether acquaintances, workmates or friends) see me for the whole concert, not just the flashy poster on the marquee. Ha!
And still, I learn more about myself and others every day ... and am grateful for every experience and lesson whether they are positive or negative.
Thanks for your comment. Just made today a bit better (and it was already great!)

Haha, I agree that being Sly makes it easy to be quite sarcastic about the appearance - even though I'm starting to enjoy it it is still funny to joke about :) I promise, every single hair I find in my dinner is NOT MINE!
I agree that your septum piercing is daring, but damn it just looks good. And not having hair makes it even better. A shaved head looks good with something to it - it's quite empty otherwise :*))
Have a great day!

Nice shirt. Are you a metal fan as well? I listen to lots of different music, but metal (death, black, melodic, math etc) always stays in my heart. But I also like old stuff like Beatles, Kinks, Turtles, Crosby Stills and Nash etc. Indie pop/rock as well.

I am a massive metal fan, I love almost all forms of it, the only thing I've found I'm not very fond of are pig squealers... thankfully there aren't many bands out there that do it! My favourite genres though are Symphonic, power, folk, pagan/celtic/viking, melodic. But having said that I tend to go through phases, for example for the past month or so I've been really getting into black metal, but I always tend to fall back onto the favs in the end :D
I love meeting new metal fans, we have a handful here at SGB
