We have really been going through a dry time. no snow last winter and very little rain this spring and summer. We are hoping to get alot of snow this winter I sure would like to do some ice fishing this year.
-

It will get colder though.
-
OH Yeah ! I am hoping that we get alot of moisture here. How has it been there?
-
It's been warm and grey here in NC this week. All day drizzles. Next week is supposed to be cooler.
-
Heavy rains today. It will be quite nice when the overnight temps finally drop below 70F (21C).
-
Wow nice to hear someone is getting rain. Dryer than a popcorn fart here. Just had the guys come out and blow out the water sprinklers. Freeze is on. But 20 to 30 % chance of rain and snow tonight and Friday. But I go buy how bad I hurt with the old broken bones and steel plates and screws in the old body. ;D I know what some of ya are thinken how about the screw loose in your ole head ;D . That there is fine. I often wonder, sure do love this site.

Rain.... 45°. Reminds me of England when I was TDY.
-
They showed some cities that are having snow on tonight's news... it looked so cold I saw dogs stuck to the sidewalk.
-
Had a cold day yesterday got down to 28 last night. There has been quite abit of snow in the higher hills so the skiers, snowmobilers, are getting excited. This morning I woke up and made my coffee looked out the window and it was white a very light dusting it sure was pretty. Two hours later the sun was out and with in a few minutes snow was gone. The temp at this time is 45 degrees and feels like 25. The trees are beautiful at this time but will be losing their leaves now with the freeze. Have a great day guys.
-
Here in wonderful Northeastern Washington, we have gone from being near 90* a couple weeks back to being in the upper 40's for highs. A couple nights back it got down to 14* at night. Doing farm chores is never fun in the cold but I must say, I much prefer the cold to the heat. We had a wet summer here but now a dry fall which throws a kink in our fall plans- we always have a huge fall bonfire (the non-alcohol party type) but I don't want to risk it with as dry as it has been and all the wildfires in the central part of the state
-
If you think England is rainy you want to try this part of Japan. I've never seen rain like we have here!

-
Going to be 65DEG F today in the bluegrass. Right now it is 32 and sunny. We have been getting our fair share of rain as of late.
-
Cold and low 50s (F). I actually turne the heat on last night. We usually don;'t tun on the heat until about November 1st.
-
About the same as Mike's...it sucks.
-
Yesterday it was 69 degrees, sun shinning. Today 41 degrees.cloudy, slight wind. Still no moisture. This up and down stuff makes people sick. And it also Sucks. I love snow, rain, guess might have to move to Alaska, Canada, Washington. But would make a bet that soon as I get there the it would change. LOL Oh Well Be Happy ! Anyone remember Be Happy :) ?
-
65 degrees and sun is shinning, slight wind, trees are turning colors all over. Beautiful ! Life is good.
I hope that you all have a Great Day :)
-
Autumnal and 15c.
Typical for London in October. Still, at least it's sunny.
-
After a gloomy start, it's become a beautiful fall afternoon: sunny, cloudless blue sky, occasional breeze, mild temps. The trees are changing colors, but many are still green. All in all, a day that makes you glad to be alive!
-
Nice and autumnal sunny and cool ...6c at night 12-14 c in the day
-
Dull, gloomy, but finally we are getting some rain, the first significant amount since July 1st.
-
It sucks. I wish I was in Florida.
-
Sunny, 64 degrees , and no moisture. The Drought that we are having is affecting 60% of the state. They have lifted the fire ban but very dry.
Have a Great day guys.

I went to a show in Salem Oregon this weekend and was surprised at how cold it was over there. They had palm trees and banana plants everywhere but it was under 60 the whole weekend we were there. We got home on Sunday and it was 70 and rainy. We have been stuck in a mini- drought all summer, been a couple months without rain here on our side of the state so it is welcomed. Today it is very windy and only supposed to get to 57 with scattered rain. I am ready for snow already!
-
Beautiful Night. 49 degrees and I am amazed nice gentle rain, Wow forgot what it was like. High wind in effect till 8pm Thursday up to 55 mph and gusts to 70 mph with rain . Now that I live in a nice sturdy house instead of a tin can. Bring it on. Bul LOL, there goes the moister.
Good Night and May God Bless.
-
Yesterday windy, overcast ,and just cold. Today sunny but winds with 70 mph wind gusts. 45 degrees but feels like 34. Slight chance of rain.
Hope you all have a great day.

80's and sunny in Las Vegas.

CAVU in Philly.

Chilly, windy, gloomy day in northeast Illinois today... Few rain drops now and then. My wife loves this kind of weather. I can live without it ;D. Good day to spend inside. Keep forgetting how close we are to the end of the year already...

Cute pic. I would love any rain, snow , what ever. Have to agree with your wife. I love that type of day , fireplace going , a movie , beer , popcorn, and just relax and enjoy the loved ones. ;) Sweet, maybe enjoy mamma. O:O
-
Yesterday was a day to behold. This morning in our local paper it had a picture of 4 semi trailers laying down on there sides in a row they looked like domino's wind gusts of 81 mph. Falling trees, rocks, etc.in the Hills.
This was a bad hair day for alot of people , and I bet that many have turned SLY today.
-
Today in the city as I was driving home (takes me about an hour to drive from work to home) it was pouring rain so hard that my clothes were soaked by the time I ran from my car into the gas station which was about 20' away. Then on the highway, it was still pouring rain but with very strong winds. By the time I got about half way home, the rain was gone but the wind was still going strong. By the time I got home, no sign of rain but with nasty wind. As I sit here typing, I can't hear the TV because the rain followed me home and is deafening but amazingly peaceful. They say we might get snow this week out here in the sticks, I am rather excited
By the way theman, I am glad you decided to stay
-
It's a magnificent fall day here - very sunny and mild.
For anyone who is interested, the earth will be moving through the remnants of the tail of Halley's Comet tonight, so we'll be able to see a huge meteor shower - something like 25 to 30 an hour. Best time is between midnight and 6:00AM.

I heard about that but forgot about it. Thanks, yes indeed it is a beautiful fall day here also. It is up to 76 with a slight breeze and and the sun is shinning.
Thanks again.
-
What a beautiful night at least here. Gonna have a Toddy and watch the M. Showers tonight !
-
I have some exciting (to me) weather news today. I was at work all day and the rain was the huge drops that almost hurt because they hit with such force. But today once I got past the city and highway and the town, I started to smell a great smell in the air and feel a great feeling in the crispness of the air. As soon as I got past the 'snow belt' that is about 1/2 mile south of us, I saw it! Falling in huge flakes, gently floating down and coating the ground quickly was the snow. It lasted for about an hour after I got home and coated the ground lightly but I watched it the whole time. I will be going to bed content, even though it will be melted by morning
-
With all due respect to snow lovers, as far as I am concerned snow is a four letter word, if you catch my drift.
-
I got a year older yesterday, and I had prayed for snow on the day. The Lord was great , it did it all day. We only have 1" today , and is cold but beautiful.
Sorry Tom, I will take what you don't want ! ;)
-
Figured I'd post here. It started snowing last night when I was at work. By 9 pm we had enough to make a mini snowman and have a snowball fight in the parking lot. All the way home I was driving around 50 since it was coming down so hard and it seems like everyone that sped past ended up spinning out. I just got up and it is still snowing, looks like we have about 4 inches.
I said I wanted it to snow, I just didn't think it would snow so much. I should have listened to the voice in my head that told me to put snow tires on over the weekend
-
Thanks Mike ,
Today it is 30 degrees here and thick fog, gentle mist. We are suppose to get some of the white stuff, starting to night and all day tomorrow. Sure hope we do and it is really wet. And stays long enough to sink into the ground. The ground is so hard here that it will take alot to sink in. Fire danger is still high.
North Dakota has storm warnings out. We also will be getting a strong wind.
Sounds like you have a good snow going there Mike. Be safe the way some of these people drive you are taking your life in your hands. They are crazy.
But I agree , all trees, and bush's , had frost on them and it really is pretty. Winter wonderland ! LOL
-
I always find it interesting comparing with you guys on on the other side of the planet, It's a nice sunny 18oC here (~65oF). Tomorrow is going to be 26 (~79) and my friends and I are planing to hit up the beach, so it should be good weather for it.
-
We had a nice warm day here in SW Kentucky, supposed to be like this all weekend, which coincidently is a 4 day weekend. O:O
-
Snowing a very cold in Calgary Alberta.
-
Snowing and Blowing , snow looks good and wet . Hope we get alot of it and can penatrate into the ground. Also still have alittle fog, we had alot yesterday. I am enjoying coffee and the warmth of the fire place today.
You all have a Great Day !
-
Sun is shining, but cold , still have some snow on the ground. 12 degrees now it is up to 34 .
Hope you all have a Super Great Day ! Sure a difference then last year on this date. LOL
-
We still have snow. It got to 34 yesterday so some of it melted but not much. I woke up to another 4". In total we have close to 10" here in my area. In the city where I work, they have maybe 1/2" which is always interesting. We are only a few hundred feet higher in elevation and 20 miles north

Cool man, I sure do wish we had that here. sure could use it. You said it was good and wet ? Hope you got your threads on. At least you hope you had a extra day off to kick back man. Thanks for the update. O0

OK : I finally caved in and did it . . .

It is a bugger , bills go up ! But I like to stay warm . To old to cut firewood, downstairs we have a gas fireplace. I have a Amish , golden Oak, it is sweet and keeps my cave nice and warm. With all the injurys and diabetes Type 2 , wear cotton socks all the time, and it is all good ! Thanks, man for the update ! :)
-
It was very wet snow today. Folks were doing a decent job of driving on the highway until I got closer to town, then the bad drivers started showing up. Tonight when I got home, the driveway was a hassel to get up. Since the snow was wet I had to take a few tries at making it. Our driveway is about as long as a city block, so getting stuck at the bottom is never fun
I am a cold weather person so I do enjoy the cold much more than the heat. Like today when it was around 28, I just had jeans and a tshirt on and was perfectly comfortable.
-
Crap - it always is in England
-
It will start snowing here in about a month and stick around until about March next year. I hate having to dig out cars in the morning, did out the front of the garage again to get car back in... Still, 20 years ago people would jump out of upstairs windows to leave house as otherwise they were snowed in!
-
We might get a snowfall here in January. Everything will be closed for a day or two until it melts. then the daffodils will start blooming the next day and we will be ready for spring. If we get 1 or 2 days of snow a winter we've had a bunch. Flowers are still blooming here in North Carolina, and 60's in the afternoons.
-
Here in SE Louisiana, thanks to an early morning shower, a cold front came in. Monday's high 76-Today the high may barely crack 60 with overnight lows in the 40s. At least no rain in the forecast for now.
-
We've had a thunder and lightning storm which has been going for 13 hours so far.....
-
We've had a thunder and lightning storm which has been going for 13 hours so far.....
I wish he had storms like that, that lasted for 13 hours. Although not this time of year... there would be too many bushfires!
-
Have a Beautiful snow storm here and enjoying every minute of it. We are suppose to get a good foot or more. Temp in -7 , wind is blowing and drifting the snow. Many things are shut down schools, etc.. But finally we get moister that is needed so much. I hope it continues. Many parts of the country need and want moisture for all those that make there living that way.
-
We're looking at 75 here this weekend. Record highs
-
Hmmmm......My Aussie counterparts can confirm that it is HOT!
Only a low 37C in Canberra today but with a huge portion of NSW reaching 45C (113F).
-
As Lynchy said it is bloody hot and unfortunately the wind is building up so all the devastating bushfires throughout Australia are taking ages to get under control. Two years ago it was floods and already another hurricane is brewing off Western Australia. Despite all that Australia is a great place to live - and be sly.

Okay, this is a picture I found on the net today, the beauty and contradiction in the destructive power of Nature--

Feels like perpetual spring here in Boston––relatively warm, but not warm enough that you can't go out without at least packing some thin gloves in your pockets. And the days are still really short. The worst type of weather. Can't wait for summer, beers, and baseball season.
-
That's an awesome pic Saintc, thanks for sharing.
I feel for you guys north of the border. Have you managed to get below 30 yet? Down in Geelong we are bum scrapping to stay in the 20s this weekend. Wish it would stay hot for the weekends down here! We seem to always been getting cool changes Friday night at the moment then build back up to a sweltering Thursday/Friday.
-
It was cold here ( of course "cold" is a relative, or subjective term) @ around 25°F. I am very interested in weather conditions, and in fact I have a weather page on the "net" http://www.canbyweather.com/
(http://www.canbyweather.com/)
I do not mind posting the address here as it is not commercial, and definitely supplies me with no income, only outgo.
-
I also enjoy the weather. The big blizzard that they had named and all only dropped about 2" made the roads mighty slippery . Wind did blow and temps did drop to - 8 as of the time I am writing this. :( Hope fully we will get some moisture as the farmers, ranchers, and much of the money comes from this in my area. And we are not the only ones , there are many states.
-
As of right now, we still have 2 1/2' of snow on the ground. It is very bitterly cold and windy lately. The other day when I was heading to work, it was -4 F
-
It's been unseasonably warm here the last few days. About 54 degrees F yesterday and the same today BUT we have had relentless, thick fog. The fog didn't clear until about 2 PM yesterday afternoon and it rolled right back in last night. My 60 mile drive to work this AM was slow because the fog is so thick.
-
It's a brisk 11 (F) here, the high will plunge to 30. Happily, we've no wind-unusual for us-or we'd be easily in the minus numbers. On the other hand, a friend called from Melbourne-they're attending the Australian Open-and said it was so hot, it was discreetly suggested that unless you carried water-not spirits-salt tabs, hats, fans, loose fitting clothing etc. that you may wish to find other diversions. Such as go sea bathing, look for sharks-not all of whom will be wearing white and holding racquets.
-
I was as a Boy Scout winter Klondike camporee this weekend. It was UNSEASONABLLY warm. We got there on Friday night and the low was in the 40's. On Saturday, it got up to the low 70's. There were scouts in shorts and kilts at a winter campout. Saturday night it was in the low 50's. All in all, not bad weather for a winter camping event.
-
We had alot of snow here in the Nort- east - - - and last night temperatures hit 50 and that is where they are now - - -ALL THE SNOW IS GONE - -WONDERFUL
-
Lots of global warming here in the Sacramento Valley.
Can't remember having to run the heater as much aas we've had to do this winter.
Hating the cold! >:(
-
Overcast skies and 60 degrees...I'll take it.
-
Sunny and 11 above ;D heat wave coming in . 8) Think I am going to move to another area. Don't mind the cold if the snow is coming. Don't mind the rain even if and when I rode my Harley. Oh well as said Global Warming.
Mike glad you had a great scouting camp out. Improvise, Adapt and Overcome ! ;D
Still goes back to enjoy everyday as it comes, and deal with it and have some fun. O0
-
Here in Southern Illinois it is 24F degrees outside. We got some rain mixed with sleet yesterday. I read by the calendar that Spring is only about 70 days away with the changing of the time about a week or 2 before that. I am tired of this cold weather. But we can't change Father Nature!
-
It would probably be rude of me to bask in our sunshine and afternoons in the low 80s (yes, this is January) here in Central Florida.
Yeah, that would be rude.
I'm definitely ashamed of myself.

On the Australian mainland there has been a bit of a heatwave. I heard on the TV yesterday morning that in Moomba, South Australia on Saturday 12 Jan 2013 the temperature hit 49.6C which is 121.3F.
Thank goodness I wasn't anywhere near there -- I would call that temperature unbearable.
Also, I would be disappointed that it didn't go up another 0.4C so that I could say I had been in 50C heat.
-
That sure is hot. I am looking forward to spring. Each time I go to the garage I see my golf clubs. It is 24 above today , sun was shining, but now a few flurries I call them (teasers).
-
Well the weather here is confusing one minute warm and pleasant the next freezing cold what is going on!?!?!

Sure do have that right Crusher ;) O0

Darn it Frontier Guy! You're making me miss Florida! As a northeastern guy, Florida is a great, great escape, and the last two springs I've spent weeks in Orlando and Tampa soaking up some rays with some girlfriends (those were wicked good times ;) ) Though I won't have such luck this spring, I'll be busy in school. :/

Another 40C day tomorrow in my neck of the woods. Expecting more fires tomorrow too... hopefully nothing bad.

36 degrees with a wind advisory here today. Sun is shinning.

Weather here has been pretty chilly lately. 2 days ago it was really cold. It is supposed to be even colder here next Monday and Tuesday. Hope that the weather Improves soon.
Take care everyone!

I guess it's what you are used to. Celsius always strikes me as more logical
below zero celsius - freezing/ice
100 celsius and above - water boils
anything in between is liquid water
so..
10c - mild
20c - warm
30c - hot
40c - too hot !!

I understand that the UK uses Celsius and you changed your currency to decimal but according to UK police reality shows it seems that the UK still uses miles/h instead of kilometer/h -- what happened? I can understand the US or anywhere else not wanting to change but going half-way with Le Système international d'unités -- that's odd. Unless I've got it wrong?

How true this C-F is ! The way I see it is there is Cold and F'n Cold. ! Just had to say that , same thing as time changes, never did it in the old days why do it now ? Its freezing cold here in Wisconsin. Im thinking its 40 degrees. Best yesterday it was 50 degrees sunny, but with 30 degree wind chill. Yeah, its crazy.

I was thinking darn got a headache . But many years ago way before the communications, and those who study the weather and are suppose to be able to predict what is going to happen. Had a beautiful day here ! 50 degrees sun shinning and no wind. Still dry but very nice. Golf courses are looking better each day.
-
We had a really nice weekend, and the days following. Up north however they've had ex-tropical cyclones turning into low pressure systems and wrecking havoc on the North east to central coast. With major flooding and even word of tornados which is so very rare in Australia.

I saw some of that on the telly, we have been getting some snow here and it is good and wet. But the temps are going down to -5 tonight. Today the sun was shinning and it was snowing lightly really kind of nice. Think I will stick with our weather over your Beardman. Be safe .
-
Last week at this time it was 12 degrees F. Yesterday it was 68 degrees F with torrential rain. More temperatures in the high 60's today and then tomorrow it's back to Winter with daytime temperatures around the freezing mark.
-
Yeah here similar to Mikekoz... freezing freezing freezing then 65 f now cooling down again. Very humid but only a little drizzle.
Day 12 sly and I've only been able to go out maybe 5 times without a hat without freezing to death and all those times I ended up getting rained/snowed on. Let's get it together, east coast weather!
