In the news on the right hand side of the pond today:
Kids as young as 10 have been given cash incentives to take opponents out of the game by Pop Warner League teams. Is this for real?
Wrong on so many levels I can't begin to explain my feelings on the subject.
-
I think this is still in the alleged category and Pop Warner is investigating.

If true.... a couple of the Dads who had their kids hurt should have an "after hours" meeting with those coaches and inflict a little of their own pain on these clowns.
-
Yes, if true I would personally hand out the baseball bats.

I agree.

A bounty program in organized football?
Nah, couldn't be! ::)
Not making light of it, at all.
It's just sad.

I'll help.

I hope it isn't true but I also wouldn't be surprised if it is, unfortunately.

Agreed. Some parents get so focused on winning that they lose sight of the fact it's justa game and the kids end up suffering in the end because they grow up thinking it's okay to cheat and hurt others to get what they want.
-
When I was a kid we did that for free. Man, was I born at the wrong time.
-
This sickens me, put the coaches in with some pro players and get them to take what they gave out to those kids

When I was living in CA at one of my son's soccer games I over heard parents talking about paying their kids to take someone out. Disgusting! :/O
