I've been lurking here since July and finally decided to join and post to the forum.

I've gone back and forth using clippers w/ no guard vs. sly for about 11 years now (did it the week before 9/11) and after reading about the 30 day rule here I decided to take the plunge again and go totally sly.  I'm always surprised at how pale my skin is (even using clippers) once I do shave my head with a razor but now I've learned my lesson to be patient.

Even living here in Miami I need to give my head some time to get some sun, but not too much.

As for going bald, ever since I noticed I was losing my hair i didn't fight it as it turned out to be a blessing as I think I'd look like a 12 year-old with a full head of hair.  :)

I think this website (especially the forums) kick a$$ and I'm looking forward to posting to the forums!

Welcome!  Glad you decided to join.  Be careful trying to get sun on your pale scalp.  Better to take your time rather than get a sunburn and have a peeling dome!

Welcome from another Floridian (Orlando area).

The reward I feel each morning of the BBS (baby butt smooth) scalp ensures I never miss shaving for a day.

What has prompted you to slide from sly to clippers in the past?

FrontierGuy,

I went to clippers in the past since I got tired of the nicks and cuts from one of the old style Headblades.

I started using Gillette Fusion razors on my face recently and liked the smooth shave so much I decided to try it on my head.

Now I consider myself re-converted.  :)
