I just started shaving my dome. I always have a shadow, even right after shaving. Any thoughts on how to make this go away?

There are ways to minimize the appearance of shadow....but sadly all of us bald guys will have some form of shadow unless we get laser treatments or somehow acquire alopecia....but only another sly guy will notice your shadow, I don't think it's anything you should lose sleep over.

Shadow is the bane of ever BBC guy's existence. As long as you still have hair, thinning though it may be, you'll have shadow. But don't fret. Where it as a badge to people know that you're BBC and proud!
-
it is something normal. you'll get used to it

Unless your hair all falls out or turns completely white, you'll have to live with the shadow. As others have mentioned, you notice it more than anyone else. Others see you as bald, not "the guy with the shadow".

You'll lose some shadow over time and with a little sun. But you'll still look good.

I personally don't care about this shadow thing ,even when my Norwood scale reach the end point I am not gonna care ...If you are BBC even better ,get some tan stay smooth and I don't see any problem there ...

the whiter your skin and darker your hair the more shadow you'll have but there are some ways to minimize it. If you stay outside for sometime every day you will get a natural tanning, if you stay outside long use sunscreen!
Give your dome a good shine using a lotion/cream/gel, it should also help
But most important, as others have said, you'll notice it, others won't, or at least to a much lesser extent

Shave against the grain. After doing that, then you'll need a tan. That's about the most you can do.

I lilke the response of the shadow showing we are BBC and that we are indeed shaving our head to get the look. Makes living with the shadow easier.

Go gray at forty. Did the trick for me! (This will not work quite so well for African-American SLY brothers)
If you can't manage that, always be seen with strong backlighting.
Or have only friends with terrible short-range vision.
Failing all these... you'll have to put up with it.

Proof that a guy with a full head of hair can also rock the bald look.
Put some shiny lotion on, head slick, aloe vera, etc. The shine will distract from the shadow. People will see the shine and forget that you have a shadow.
Shadows are like the sandpaper feel at the end of the day. It's a part of enjoying life with a bald head.

Since going slick when I go into town every week [population of 10,000] in the couple of hours that I am there I usually see between 2 and 5 shaven-headed guys.
I have never noticed whether they do or don't have shadows and I am particularly looking at their skulls. I have also never noticed whether their skulls are shaped "oddly" or not.
I reckon that the shadow is only obvious to it's owner. And if anyone does notice rest assured that they don't care.

Yep, that's pretty much my thoughts on the subject!

I do notice that in winter the shadow is showing more- sun will help again when it warms up.

Yeah I know what you mean about "The shadow"
