Title: 16 years of BBC
Post by: baldntat05 on September 01, 2012, 05:06:42 PM
Haven't posted in a good while, but thought I would stop by.  I will soon be celebrating 16 years of "bald by choice".  (Except for a brief period I wore a shoed recon flat with shaved s/b).  I have to say, without a doubt, that I still love being bald.  I could have hair, but choose not to.  When I first shaved my head in 1996 there were very few bald white men in Eastern NC.  Through the years of being bald I have had and still have very high-profile, well paying jobs.  The bald head was never an issue.  I am pretty much a once a day shaver, sometimes twice for a special evening out.  The higher the shine on the scalp the happier I am.

When I first shaved my head, I was a young pup, now in my 50's I still proudly wear the BBC look.  For most of my bald years I have sported a goatee that ranged from stubble to about 3 inches long.  Last weekend I shaved off the goatee and then immediately began growing a full beard.  This a totally new look for me.  So far so good.  The most interesting thing about this new adventure is the feel of rubbing from the freshly shaved head to the beard beginning at the top of my ears.

Ever now and again I feel the need to regrow the hair.  Normally I only make it about 6 days and shave it slick.  If you are thinking about shaving your head, go for it.  If you are shaving, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Congrats on nearing your 16 years of BBC, I am not BBC, but in my sure time shaving I've never been able to let it pass a week either... not that, that would be pretty for anyone...

When I started growing out my facial hair I went with a full beard, but now I love my epic Van Dyke. Some days I think of going back to a full beard, maybe one day...

I'm half way to 16 years.  Prefer the beard/sly combination.  These days having a shaved head is very mainstream.

I have past my 16th anniversary and the beard has been growing for almost 10 weeks.  So far I really like the slick head with the beard look.  Keep it slick!
