Title: Bald By Choice
Post by: mmatzick on May 21, 2007, 03:30:02 PM
I am just curious as to how many members are sly by choice? Meaning could grow hair if they wanted to? Myself I could grow a full healthy head of hair....  :XX

I guess you could say I'm on the fence.  I can grow a full head of hair, but when I do, I find it all over the place.  All on my pillow, in the shower, on my clothes, ect.  But I have to thin spots.  I shave because I like the look and feel, but I started to end the hair everywhere problem.

By choice here...full head if i wanted...but havent, liked what my hair was capable of for years before...

going SLY was the best option for me!

full head of hair. Full crown. Full frontal hairline.

But my hair is painfully straight and thin. Its a pain to do anything with. Sly is way better for me.

BBC.  I originally shaved my head to make my 3 yr old daughter happy with her shaved head (accident with scissors, when Daddy wasn't watching, DOH!).  I loved it and don't plan on growing my hair back.

I'm bald by choice too. Shave it clean every day. Wouldn't have it any other way. This month marks one year of being bald. No plans to regrow. Why did I do it? Just got tired of my silvery hair. And I look better without hair.

Bald by choice, although it is going on my crown(can tell by lack of shadow). Hair is funny though.  At age 40, the crap started growing out of my ears and on my head, but it falls out in other places. Guess it is sign of getting old....

Well, I have got to break the BBC streak here.  I love the sly look but while I may not have the MPB fringe, nature is confirming my decision to go sly.  One of the times, I grew hair back, a co-worker noted that my crown was see through.  Another time a video made it obvious that the forest was thinning.  So I am glad to be sly as my grandfathers were quite bald and had the "Bozo" look and my dad was seriously thinning.  While I may grow hair back, it will not be my primary look!

Sure am: BBC all the way!

Nature helped me make the leap though: my forehead was getting higher and higher, but wasnt actually losing vast amounts of hair.

Just love the look and the feel and the confidence it gave me too.

WELL, I'M BBC for the reason the same as J's  when i have a full head (a lilthin on crown , but still full) my hair is a REAL light brown, lil blondish AND as fine and silky as a babys !SO... even when i have a full head it LOOKS thining  I wish i could combine the texture of my beard and my head hair , that might be acceptable, but I'd probally still be BBC!  im 48 now and probally been BBC for about 8/10 years , BESIDES...  after about 6/7 hours onna bike , ya take your silly as helmet off and know WHAT ?  no helmet head , AT ALL  O:O  I'v ridden for years , and it didnt matter what you did or what cut you have , SLY is the only way to AVOID helmet head totally!

Totally my choice.  I had hair all on length down to my shoulders.  After 10 years of that, I wanted a change!

You could call me BBC, I can at this stage almost grow a full head of hair, its just thinning in places.

Feel free guys to object if you consider that not BBC.

Well I am a victim of MPB..... but it never bothered me. I realized early in life when i looked at my dad and my grandfather that MPB was in my future. In my late 30's I buzzed it all off one day (down to about 1/4 inch). iIhad shoulder length hair at the time but a little thin on top. i didn't tell anybody I was going to do it. i was on my way to a softball game and stopped in the local barber shop. Told them to buzz it off. Thay thought i was crazy but did it for me. My wife loved it immediately.

I kept it buzzed off for 7 1/2 years and last summer just shaved the little bit that was left off. My wife was all over me like a fly on a cow pie.... she loved it.

i caught some grief from friends and guys at work but most of them are just hiding bald spots anyway.
I've always been a confident guy and couldn't really care less about balding knuckleheads that give me greif.

My 10 year old son cried when i first went SLY but I have to admit.... it was a little scary looking..... i was all nice and tan except for the big white area around the side and back!!!

So I was by choice but with some serious encouragement from nature.

Totally BBC.  Although the men in my family tend to go bald in their 40's,  I am thinning but still have a full head.  Being BBC I'll never have to worry about it.  The most traumatic thing that has happened so far is Wally World quit carrying HeadLube and now I have to buy it online.

Actually Shane if you have a Walgreens, CVS, or Osco Drug near you, you should be able to pick up HeadLube there.

BBC, as I'm probably a Norwood 2 or just under it on that weird scale (mature hairline?), but who knows, maybe someday I will be bald with no choice.

When I first shaved I was total BBC, now 11 years later nature has begun to thin out the crown, but I still shave off the rest of it.

I consider myself BBC.  I do/did have a receding hairline (which I loved) and thinning on the crown (which I didn't mind too terribly).  But I've always wanted to shave my head and here I finally am :)

I wasn't receding in front but I was thining at the crown. A spot was beginning to spread in the back. No obvious white hairs.

I did the Sam Malone comb back for a few years. I am 6 feet tall so I figured only taller people would notice.

Then when a girl sent over a recent pic of me leaning my head down I was horrified. It looked worse than the straight ahead angle I always saw in the mirror. Out came the razor.

BBC because I didn't want the MBP look anymore. I even shaved my mustache - which was getting some white hairs.

I am 100% BBC.

No family members with any thinning at all... and I have no signs.

My hair is actually the opposite and extremely thick - so it's like mowing a corn field with a lawn mower every morning......

BBC because I am sick of the maintenance - and because the wind would screw my hair up on my Harley every day on my way to work...

Besides, being sly looks BADA$$!

My choice. It's just easier to maintain out on the road while trucking around the country. Even when I have hair I never comb it, just put on a hat and go.

Besides, I like the look better.
