Hey folks,
I absolutely LOVE having a super glossy shine to my dome. So I'm always on the lookout for products to enhance the shine. Earlier in the summer, I was stopping by an urban barbershop near home to have the facial hair lined up. Well, on one of my trips there, I noticed that a guy had just gotten a fresh headshave. As the barber was putting on the finishing touches I noticed that he sprayed the guy's now bald pate with something that looked like hairspray. The guy's head immediately shone like a beacon. As it turns out, it wasn't hairspray at all. It was a shine and conditioning spray. Basically, this stuff contains an oil base (either olive oil or almond oil) and it's meant to condition and add shine to hair but it does just the same for the scalp. I've since picked up some of this stuff and started using it. It gives the scalp a nice, soft feel while adding a great shine to it.
Just though I'd share for those that are looking for a similar product. :)

Do not keep us in suspense!!! What is the name of the spray?

There are a couple that I've seen work well. This is one.

This is the one I'm using now. This one smells good too.

Any idea who sells it besides barber shops?

I actually found the spray I'm using at a WalMart. Try looking in the ethnic haircare section.
-
I'll check it out. Thanks.
-
Thanks for the info on the shine.I'm new here and all the info I get from works....this is a great site
-
that does work!
-
Thanks for the info, Frank!...To add on, if you can find this in WalMart, I'm willing to bet you can find this in most beauty supply stores (e.g. Sally's Beauty Supply)

Last summer, I had my head shaved at an urban barbershop near where I work and the barber finished off with the olive oil spray and a gentle buff. The shine was incredible. I've seen the olive oil spray at Harmon Drugs / Bed, Bath & Beyond.

I'll have to give these products a try...thanx for the heads up! O0

Try using your kitchen olive oil, just a few drops will do the work. I have used it for shaving, and even after rinsing it off the dome was shiny as hell. It really doesn't work for me, specially in summer, as I tend to sweat a lot, but it might be a think to try for you...just a thought
-
Careful with the kitchen olive oil! We had a thread last summer where a guy was using extra virgin olive oil and ended up smelling like a Greek salad. I think SaintC warned that extra virgin olive oil is the most fragrant - and most common in the kitchen. :)
-
Virging Extra Olive Oil is what it is...a totally natural product where the oil is mechanically extracted from fresh olives in a cold process 'cold pressed'. No ingredients are added, so the scent is also what it is, natural. You may like or dislike it, but you know you are splashing something very close to absolutely natural on your dome.
BTW, I prefer the Greek over the Ceasars Salad

I will give it a try since I too want maximum shine. That said, I find Headlube Glossy sure adds some shine and mosturizing.
-
When I apply SPF 30 or higher it shines my dome very good.
-
FrankR and Valldo,
Thnanks for the tips. I like a good shine on my dome also. It helps with the dry skin problem as well.
-
Ive used this. Decent product.
-
try using dr organics double strenth aloe vera gell, blinding shine, best product by far O0 O0 O0
-
Try using Fruit of the Earth brand clear aloe vera gel. It gives a bright non-greasy shine that lasts all day. It costs less than $5 at Walmart.

Cold water and Headlube Glossy continue to deliver a great shine. Hats in winter ,however, take a little of it off.
