To enhance the interactive experience on this site I would like to encourage those who are both new and old here to update their profiles to include the place where they live, if they have not yet. For me personally, I like to know which country a SBG member comes from. It somehow enriches the experience here.
I know that posting a photo is not easy for everybody for a multitude of personal reasons, but I also want to encourage those who have not posted a profile picture to do so. I think it adds a personal touch and it shows a certain openness and sincerity. That is not to say that those who have not are viewed in a negative light by me. But, after all, this is a forum about bald men, so why not proudly show the world your baldness? Posting your photo is also a brilliant way to affirm that you accept your look and that you are not shy to show it off publicly. For me personally, it is so nice and more meaningful to see the face of a person you are corresponding with.
This is just my opinion. How do others feel about this point? What are the reasons why some people have not posted the cities / countries they live in or their profile photo’s?

I agree.

I totally agree with updating profiles. I often check a profile for either age or location to guide my response. (Encouragement to a 20 year-old will be much different than responding to a 60 year-old. Same for someone in a tropical climate versus a pole-sitter.)
Even if you don't wish to identify your city you can use something "broader" like a state/region ... or country ... or continent.
Something broader than continent (like "Planet Earth") is probably not so helpful.

Well nice idea... but i am struggling with BDD ...and my mother heart transplantation- situation is making this already bad situation even worse -sometimes I even feel suicidal(these days more often than usually because of her and that is one of the main reason's why I am so often on this forum I am trying to think about something else than suicide and despair... ),I do somatize my deeper problems -like focusing on my facial (a)symmetry and frankly i hate taking pictures and avoid even mirrors ...but am a legit. and i will post a picture when i feel that i can,o man it is just it can't always be like now :-\ it has to be better it has....

Great idea! I also like knowing guys real names so if I PM them I can address them properly.
All that said... I totally understand why some are reluctant to post any personal info.

I totally agree with you Waine. We should all be proud of our baldness. We are a brotherhood here, having real photos and locations help strengthen our friendships.

I don't see any harm in getting to know your fellow bald brothers a little better.....One question to the mods: Can anyone see a member's profile or can profiles only be viewed by other members? Another forum that I'm a member of only allows members to visit others' profiles.

Agreed. It would be nice to be on a trip and run into one of my SBG Bros. This way we'll know who to watch for depending on which region we're visiting. For instance, when in the Sunshine State you might see FrontierGuy, SirHarry could show you where to meet the ladies in Louisianna, have to hang with Beardman when I make it to the world's largest island, and if I'm ever in Romania I'll keep my eyes open for PaulTheBald.
