@Mike-Gonna have to remember the name "Edwin Jagger" Thanks!
@Warhawk....Ever since returning from vacation last month, I've been working an average of 54 hours per week due to covering for others who are on vacation....Harvest season is about to hit and so we will be going crazy.....Had to help a couple of family members so no extra money at the moment...but I may be coming into something in a couple of weeks. Will keep you posted.

Harry, treat yourself to something truly special and get the merkur 34c or 38c if you like a longer handle!

Mel,
You still haven't started with your wonderful SEs yet? Can't believe you can be so patient! You're missing out my friend! I might take my injector on my travels with me this week, it's so good!
-
I use a Merkur 12C HD Long Handle Barber Pole Safety Razor, Open Tooth with Derby Extra blades.
-
I use a SABI DE and a Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip DE. (Thanks to the kindness of Warhawk and BlueBriz)
If I could buy any DE it would be the Edwin Jagger EJ89L, but it is expensive to import so I will have to wait for the "bonus" month before I can even contemplate such a purchase. I have read such positive reviews on this DE on this and other forums, so it makes sense as my first choice.
-
I use a cobra classic, a Merkur 37C slant EJDE89, Lord1822pl, Feather Artist Club SS non folding, Kai Captain folding (those two are disposable blade straights), schick injector adjustable, and another couple of SE razors, including a GEM featherweight generously PIFd by our very own Warhawk (a surprise present!). I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple here....

That is a cracking beard!

@Bluebriz: Brian... you are right. I still haven't really gotten into the SE razors. Thanks to Brian... I was PiF'd (gifted) my 1st SE razor the Gem Jr. since than I have collected a handful of SE razors in which I really need to try out. I am just enjoying my DE journey but I plan to visit the SE razors one day. Matter of fact... speaking of injectors... I was fortunate to win a bid on Ebay for a Schick Injector (good condition) for only 99cents. O0

@warhawk Mel, the injectors are fantastic. They give almost effortless close shaves! People sometimes feel like they're cheating by using them, they're THAT good! I'm dying to get hold of an O type injector, the last they made, but sold in Japan only. I see the blades everywhere but can't find a razor!

Hmmmm.... I wonder what type of Schick Injector I got. I'm going to check later.

The closest modern razor for the feel of the shave (IMO) is the Cobra Classic. So you can get just as good a shave with an injector as you can with a CC. I'll be interested to read which model you have, I'd guess one of the brown handled ones (not sure if it's plastic or bakelite!)

Thanks, BBCMark! I'm letting it grow out and working towards a large handlebar.

@Bluebriz: Brian enclosed is a pic of the SE razor I won for only 99cents on Ebay. It is a Schick Injector. I hope you can identify what model it is.
The serial # in the razor..#1806087 and the bottom # 1969949. Let me know what you think.

Ah, yes, the Schick Injector. I left an esteemed SI at the gym by mistake a couple of years ago, and lamented the loss here on SBG, and one of the members (you know who you were) sent me, gratis, a SI of the kind you show here. They are ca. 1940s. It baffles me that SIs of this vintage are relatively cheap on eBay, but those from the 80s are quite pricy. They all take the same blades! I guess these early versions had most of the market share beyond DE units, and so are not thin on the ground in the used razor market, being found abandoned and sad in drawers of many a passed-on man. "So let's see what eBay will give for Dad's/Gramp's piece of useless junk." If the heirs but knew...
I have set aside my last surviving SI that's not this antique in case I should lose this one (not likely!), and use the antique every day I shave. I dread the day that injector blades, either Schick or generic, become unavailable. I've got two or three year's supply, however, in my bathroom drawer.
I can only agree with the other SBG posters about the ability of something this old to give a perfectly fine shave. Some things take on excellence long ago, but the market decrees that "Old is for geezers, and so you had better use this new hot-diggety. We need you to buy our expensive ['cutting edge,' of course] blades." Nostalgia can go too far. Ming is unlikely to regress to a straight razor, to say nothing of singing off head and beard hair with hot coals.

Indeed, that is a fantastically, stupendously awesome beard you have there. Adding a handlebar to it will put it in beard-leagues that I could never even comprehend. Great job, sir!! O0

Seriously! That is a competition quality set of whiskers DCSly!
As to the original question of this thread.
I am another speaker for Edwin Jagger. I have two of their fine razors. The first one I bought back when EJ was still getting their razor heads from Merkur, so I was essentially shaving with a 'gussied up' Merkur HD.
My second EJ purchase was made after EJ and Muhle teamed up to design and produce a head that only those two makers would share between them and it has made (minor) shaving history.
I love the way that it shaves and I love the heft of my EJ Bulbous Lined, and the palm filling handle of my EJ Georgian.
