Hi guys!My name is Milan and i am 27 yrs old ,and i am from Croatia so my english will probably be bad but i will do my best to make you guys easier to understand me ,this forum has more than once saved my life -you see i am BDD sufferer i just wanted to show appreciation to all off you especially SaintC and the other that have been involved in topics about lets say larger head then "average"you guys gave me strenght and i saw that i am not the only on with a head on the larger side i am 187cm tall and 60,5 (not sure maybe even 61cm head circumference ) ,i started loosing hair in highschool and last year i shaved my head and since then i have been doing it -but still it is not easy i hate taking pictures guess because of my BDD so guys please don't ask me to show you my pictures .I am still sometimes kinda obsessed with my head size and all over internet i can read statements like buzzing or shaving is not for us with bigger heads ...So Thank you guys for your support, you guys are the best !

Wonderer, welcome.
Although I am not you, I don't think you should have any concerns about head size. Every weekend I see hundreds of Bald guys - of all shapes and sizes or heads and/or bodies. None of them are unattractive.
I'm glad the forums and the guys here have been helpful, and I hope you will stay connected and share more of yourself (even without a photo).
Best to you as you continue being Sly.

Thank you FG I will try to stay in contact with one more hidden agenda -that is to learn English better and of course to share as much as i can with you guys from this part of the world O0

all over internet i can read statements like buzzing or shaving is not for us with bigger heads
5t*mp Frankly I've never seen any of that--and even with a melon that barely gets into a 64cm motorcycle helmet I don't think I care.
-
Your English is actually pretty good. Welcome to the club.
-
Hingatao thank you man but my English is a bit rusted from high school i could use some practice O0
Saint C i didn't meant to offend you man- this is partly because of my BDD well my "melon"is frankly full off something maybe wood don't know :)since i have this complex :-[

Welcome, Wonderer! One of the best things about this site is meeting people who may be concerned about their head size/shape or whatever. That's part of the fun of this site, meeting people and hearing stories..99% of the guys here have something about their head that they wish they could change...but sometimes it's the imperfections that make our heads uniquely ours....You're gonna be ok, man....Good Luck with whatever you decide!
-
To be honest, I think that buzzing/shaving makes heads appear smaller rather than larger.
-
Thank you sirharry i think that i will continue to be sly this is the way that nature intended for me and to be honest i fell free with shaved head p.s you are rockin this look man O0
SlyBear funny but i noticed that too, strange but true
-
Ok guys now i need to be completely honest i have this BDD fixation on my head size and slight facial asymmetry -my left cheek is a bit thicker then right (this sounds stupid i know :( ) and i've been through some rough days long story short my mother need heart transplantation and this is affecting me to the point when i think cant go on with life (but don't worry guys i am holding and need to be support for her i know )so in this stress my anxiety increases and with it my thoughts about facial symmetry and my stupid head and than i think that i am most selfish creature ever walked on Earth when in this situation i think about my obsessions i am going to psycho therapy and taking some meds to make it easier to cope with depression i feel :-[
-
You're in my prayers, brother....We're here to support you, and we wish you and your mother well, but as far as the BDD, you have to find the confidence from within to get past that. Keep us posted, we're here!

I'm not offended--just pointing out you really must be digging to find something I've never seen, and I do mean never. No one's ever pointed out or made any remarks about the size of my head. And, believe me, no one's looking at yours either. This from someone who knows and has a bigger head than you do. Put a line under any worry about your head size--it just isn't there! And, finally, the only time I have to think about it is if I want a hat--really hard to find one that fits--or another helmet for my motorcycle--then it's a real challenge too. But I do find hats and helmets--so there are enough of us with big heads to "make a market" for the size, i.e. a whole lot of people, we're not that special at all, except of course what we're able to do with all the extra brains we carry around. ::)
-
I think I have a small head, but no one seems to notice or care. Finding hats that fit me are tough, although hats are made for people with hair...and hair adds a lot to the size of your head.
My mom even told me that I had a small head (after I shaved my head), but she hates shaved heads, so that's probably why. No one else has mentioned or said anything. My mom is kind of vain when it comes to appearance, so I know it's best to ignore her comments.
To the original poster: there is no perfect size head. Some are big, some are small, but they are both "normal." Don't fret over it. And no one is perfectly symmetrical; we're all human and have physical flaws.
Keep your head up, and get the treatment you need.
-
sirharry 12-thank you my friend :) i also hope my brother and somehow i see an opportunity in this... you know if all goes well she will live (even a chance is still better than none) and i am sure that she will be just fine ,it just shows you that nothing is certain in this life and we take our lives for granted i did(and perhaps still do ) for one .....

Welcome, wonderer. I wish the best for your mother's health.
Glad to see you are quickly learning what a great group of fellas we have here. Ask any questions you may have.

Thank you Natedawg you guys are the best O0

Welcome to SBG wonderer.

Hello and Welcome Wonderer
Guess what my head size is? 64 dude! I kid you not. Somehow the Sly look has evened the originally perceived "My big head won't look good if I shave" notion.
Yes, I suck wearing a beanie, but the big head concern, is of no concern at all now.
-
Welcome to the bald brotherhood Milan.
My prayers go to your mother. As for your BDD, I hope the psychiatric treatment will be successful but bottom line is, it is all in your head. There is no such thing as a perfect head, face or body, as previously posted, our flaws make us unique and beautiful in our own way.
Waine could be your inspiration when it comes to head size, he has one of the best looking bald heads.
Your english is good, no worries about it.
-
Guys thank you all again you guys are better then best may i say -the bestest ;) this is most supportive forum i have ever seen
-
Maybe I am dragging this subject too far but I know that a lot of lurkers and guys on the "fence" are under similar pressure as i was- they either they think that their head is too small or too big to be shaved and internet can be source for lots of good information but also harmful lies that can lead a person to depression so that's why this forum is a real eye opener and you guys even when i was just a lurker gave me real informations and now a massive support so may this forum last forever long live Sly brotherhood O0 !
-
Thanks Kalbo, your compliment made my day. May I say that your look is awesome!
Wonderer, you hit the nail on the head. This forum is very supportive and there are a super bunch of guys here. There is something exhilarating knowing that I can be of help and support to anyone who may be battling with hair loss and also to help de stigmatizing the "bald" look. This is something I believe truly believe in. It is also enjoyable to dialogue with other men who share a common interest. There is a sense of "safety in numbers" and a comfort that we are not the only people who have stepped out of the "hair loss" closet.
I hope that someday you can encourage another and enjoy the same rewards.

Wayne you do rock the sly look man O0 ,yea there is a lot of pressure especially pointed toward young still insecure population ,they are offering us hair regrowth products that basically poison us (not all products but most of them), hair transplant and plastic surgery and then they present that like something cool and necessary and frankly what they are doing is a criminal act toward population, plastic surgery is ok but only when it is necessary and hair isn't in that category .
-
@Extol, Thanks for that kind comment.
The social pressure on young folk these days is tremendous. The manufacturers of “beauty” and other products that are designed to make us look good and feel good about ourselves will capitalize on any emotion to get consumers to buy their product.
I am opposed to this as it fuels an already consume driven society into forking out for something that usually does not work or that has horrible side effects. And of course, this is propagated by people whose primary goal is to make money. People who don’t really give a damn about mere mortals like you and I, only filling their bank accounts.
I would have succeeded in something in life if I can contribute towards the idea that hair, or the absence thereof, is certainly not a big factor when it comes to looking and feeling good about ourselves. Yes I agree, this type of thinking is easier for a mature settled man, but we must start breaking this stigma even from a young age.

Wise insightful words as always, Waine. Thanks for making my day too.
