Title: How long does it take to blade shave your head?
Post by: jimbo48 on July 16, 2012, 07:49:44 PM: For the first year 14 months of my head shaving experience, I used an electric shaver. The electric gave me a reasonably close shave, but it took at least 20 minutes to shave due to shaving in all directions to get it right.

Four months ago, I tried blade shaving the dome. It gave me the closest shave ever, but but after a few blade shaves, I went back to the electric. Then 3 weeks ago, I began blade shaving again. The blade shave took me as long as the electric shave (20 minutes), but I really liked the extra close blade shave. After blade shaving daily for the past 3 weeks, my shave time is down to 11 minutes.

How long does your head shave take?

Post by: Frontier Guy on July 16, 2012, 08:18:18 PM: I'm probably right around 10 minutes for head shaving with my HeadBlade in the shower - after 8 weeks of Slyness.

I'm still working out my routine. This week I switched it up - brush my teeth first (used to be last) and then into the shower where I shave head and face, and shower head to toe. As soon as I get out of the shower and towel off I'm ready to get dressed and be on my way. There's something nifty about that. Total shower time is about 25 minutes I think.

Post by: Sir Harry on July 17, 2012, 04:52:02 AM: Largely it depends on how much growth I have. If it's two days or less about 8 minutes, 3-5 days about 10 minutes, more than 5 days about 20 minutes (the electric razor may be in play after five days...)

I just started DE shaving my face at the sink.... that's about a 15 to 20 minute shave. I'm too relaxed doing it to worry about how long it takes. :)

Post by: waine on July 17, 2012, 05:47:46 AM: It takes me about 15 - 20 minutes to do my Head against the grain with the Headblade, followed by two passes on my face with a Double Edge, including Wet shave preparation and cleaning up afterwards. If I only do my head, it takes me 10 minutes with the Headblade or 20 minutes with the DE.

There is no doubt that the HB gives me the fastest head shave possible.

Head and face, pre and post...30 minutes. I agree with Nate.

Post by: kalbo on July 17, 2012, 07:35:36 PM: If I do it myself at 2 to 3 days growth, I can shave smooth in 10minutes. My barbershop straight razor shave takes about 45min to 1hour, I always look forward to the pampering and self indulgence. Best stress reliever ever.
