So about a year ago, I started noticing a receding hairline and a balding patch on top of my head. Despite this, I still sported the same old haircut I have always had, but had to frantically cover it up more and more throughout the year. And looking at my dad's head, I knew that I'd end up with a "horseshoe" on my head in a few years. So today, I did it; almost. I didn't clean shave it, but buzzed it all off with a #0 clipper. I never cared that much about my hair, but when looking into the mirror, it was as if a stranger was looking at me lol. Definitely not the Bruce Willis or Jason Statham I was expecting... It feels good, but looks so weird. But I couldn't care less... Better to shave it off now and get used to it, and save myself from future anxities. :D
I won't start shaving it for awhile, as I got a few hectic months in the military infront of me back home. Thinking of trying to sport a semi-mohawk while I'm there, unless the balding patch on the top ruins that. So here I am after some months of reading/stalking on this board. 18 Years old, next to no hair, and... Hello!
(Strangely, my skin looks extraordinarily pink in the picture...)

Another welcome, and kudos for taking action now rather than enduring years of aggravation. You'll adjust to the look, as will everyone else. Makes life so easy.
Hope you'll stick around and post updates as you settle into the Sly world.

Hey Swing, thanks for finally sayin' hello. Of course in time, it won't "look weird" anymore. Your age doesn't matter. As long as you look and feel confident about it, it's all good. Glad to have you aboard.
Better to shave it off now and get used to it, and save myself from future anxities. :D
Well said! I just wanted to point this out for those who are losing their hair and are still on the fence about shaving bald. Don't be afraid to nip it in the bud, which is how I personally believe all of life's problems should be handled.

Hello and a big welcome Sly swing. I like your attitude. It appears that you did not overthink your decision, instead you just did it and now you feel comfortable with your decision. All the best...

Let me add my welcome! Nice to see another nearly bald head.
You'll quickly get used to the new look. The difference between your current clipper cut and a shaved bald head, looks essentially the same, but the smooth head feels much nicer. You should give it a try.
I thought that the military guys were well known for shaving their heads. Well, perhaps in basic training you don't have time, but after that, go for it. While a shaved head is not exclusively police or military, it certainly fits, and you see lots of guys these days with shaved heads.
Thanks for joining us. Post often.

Welcome SlySwing. Great choice in going for the clippered buzz. Before long I'm sure you will shave it down. Good luck with everything and hang in there. O0
