...from good ol' Germany.
I'm not a new bald guy...but new to this forum. Just stumbled in some days ago surfing the web on the search for replacement blades for my headblade.
A little bit about me: I'm 52, father of 3 (that are on their way off the house), living in Germany near Hannover.
After knowing MPB already from child age (father and both grandfathers had this "ring around there bald heads" ;), my hair started quitting me when I was 14 or 15 ), I was hit about 10 years ago by stress related hairloss ( Alopecia). The MPB was not so fast at me, with 40 I had not too much hair, but there were some, even on the top.
But now I got two bald spots on the back of my head. I went to see a doctor and he told me, that it would disappear sooner by not thinking about it too much. So, not so easy, if you always know that people are staring at these spots, asking themselves what kind of desease it would be.
I handled it about three months, got some "magic liquid" from the doctor that should help. It turned the spots from white to red...no new hair at all...instead I got red backlights.. :/O
Than, it was the last working day before a 3 week holiday, I went to my bathroom, armed with a clipper and my electric shaver. After half an hour...the look in the mirror showed an other man. Huuhhh...big ears...and the scalp looked like wearing a white bathing cap. ;D It was early spring time, but we already had some sun this year.
The first thing I organized before traveling was a cap...we had a tour to Danmark and there it can be really cold in spring... :XX
But, what should I say? It was a great feeling...No more need to think about the hairless spots at my head...no more need for a hair dryer...no stress with hair that don't want to stay where it should...simply...FREEDOM... :)
And so...I stayed with this kind of hairstyle. Some times in between I was to lazy to shave on a regular base. But after 4 weeks, at the latest, they had to go again.
Most time I used an electric shaver for cleaning up. But about six months ago I looked around the web, looking for an alternative also for face shaving. The electric thing sometimes gave me bumps and really stressed my skin, in the face and on the scalp. So I found a german shaving forum. Now I'm using DE-razors for the face, mostly my headblade and sometimes a Mach3 (if I didn't match the shaving schedule (every 2nd day)) for the scalp.
No more harm at the skin, really nice way to get rid of the hair...and a nice opportunity to try out so many things..soap, after-shaves, blades, brushes.... :D
It's really nice to find more bald guys here... O0
I think it's not only a hairstyle but a way of living...don't take yourself too serious...smiling makes the life so much easier... ;D
So, now I will go on reading...and, maybe, writing some posts... ;)
Have a nice day

Hi there Stevie and a hearty welcome to this great site.
Thanks for sharing your story, I enjoyed it and I am sure many others here, can relate to much of what you said. I think Sly suits you. I am also on the thin side, build wise, but you will find that the way you dress can compliment your look by wearing collared shirts for example.
I wish you a happy stay here.
