New member here, been lurking a little the past week or so.  Decided to go the full 30 days, and then some.  Actually the third or fourth time I shaved my head clean in the past 10 years.  The first was the end result of an ill advised attempt to cut my own hair gone wrong.  The second was by choice for a summer, and the third resulted in a bad sun burn and then standing up under a rather sharp shelf the next day... needless to say I had no intent of scraping a razor across my scalp for a while after that.

However the time has come to do it right, and I am 4 days into my first 30 days.  I'm confident about my choice, and being smart about sun exposure this time.  The color will even out with a little time.  The other difference this time, the beard is staying.

The response to the new look has been 95% extremely positive, 5% "So why did you shave your head?", and one long dumbfounded silent stare followed by an inquisitive "Did you have hair last week?".  

Since I've been thinking about making this a permanent look for me, I've decided to join the group and tap into the wealth of knowledge here.  Hope I can bring something to the group as well!

Really loven the beard, one day might grow mine back out to a full beard. If I do, I am going to make it a bushranger beard!

Thanks for all the great receptions.  Yeah, growing a beard is one of the things I am good at.  It does get a bit wavy when long... once had a pretty good "General Longstreet" beard.

Perhaps the waviness of your beard could be helped by combing it like it's going out of style?... Helped me out a bit with mine.

Yes, as "NUTS" said, great combination of Sly head and beard...welcome to the greatest online forum. I 've been sly for four years now and would never go back to a partially bald head. Have fun with existing guys and welcoming new ones like yourself.
